While I fully support your avoidance of paying the highwaymen by acheiving plausible deniability, I wonder how different the comments on this thread would've been had you not been of the fairer sex...
Jake
eh... I'd have come down pretty hard if it was a true case of running and putting others at risk and making the cop get into a true chase. This... this is just... silly.

actually, thats a good point. the new digital cameras prerecord a certain time before actually being activated (30 seconds i believe). so when it turns on (with whatever switching means chosen) it already has pre-activation footage to avoid missing any juicy details or offenses...as in this case.
they are not widely used yet, however.
I think I remember hearing something about eye contact...............LOL's..........anyways if you review this previous post you will note where the "public servant" is a detective ;

He didn't really need to look at my plate. He has already pulled me over on the same bike, in the same gear, and on the same rural road.
Since he is a detective and rarely does traffic enforcement
, he isn't likely to forget me. I pissed him off even more when I refused to let him search my tankbag.
I also remember reading/hearing that the previous ticket issued by this same outstanding "public servant" was obtained by passing an unmarked / detective car. Where I'm going with this is.....maybe, just maybe the detective cars of this town/county LEA that are not used in daily traffic patrol do not have the digital dash cameras!!???? I did just check with a local LE contact and in their agency the detective cars don't have the dash cams............also if they are working UC as most detectives are they do not pull over folks for traffic violations. I'm thinking this particular "public servant" has a special bond with Sara........knowing her rights about the tank bag search and all!!

Golly, you swell folks must think I have never participated in mischief or tomfoolery of any kind before. But that's simply not true. After all, I did had an overdue library book once.
I'm afraid I'll have to agree with Steve on this one and conclude that you're nothing but a scofflaw.

Well, if that's the case, I might as well take my scofflawness into multiple states. My camping gear is lashed to the Strom, the tank is full, and I have a pint of Lynchburg's finest tonic in my rucksack. This outlaw chick is headed to Alabama!
See Y'all Sunday evening, I'm going for a RIDE!!

Sara,
You might want to cover your plastics and helmet in some blue or green masking tape for awhile. It's easy to get off and any leftover goo should be easy to remove.
What did you have in the tankbag??

Do you need to have something in the tankbag or trunk for that matter to decline being searched? I have never been asked, nor do I party like I used to, but would avoid giving a stranger a tour of my possessions given a choice.

not sure of your message intent, but i wasnt aware this current hiding event was an unmarked car (i knew the previous one was). i also am aware that most detective cars dont have cameras...not enough money to go around and they wouldnt use them anyway. i said the digital ones werent widely used for the same exact reason. not all unmarked cars are 'detectives'. not all dectectives are just detectives. in some smaller agencies the officers will have concurrent duties. also, what if this 'public servant' was a patrolman when he found his fondness for the op, then moved onto detectives and took his love affair with him. who knows. i wasnt trying to inject details into someone elses scenario, just providing some insight and options (what ifs) since she has to face this guy in a few weeks and he may seem like the type to 'hold it against' her.
i would also agree that many of us are 'taking it easy' on sara because shes a girl and we think its cute cause were surprised she 'had it in her to do this' (exact words). had this been any other guy, we would have flamed him for his inappropriate reckless behavior that gives motorcyclists a bad name. all im saying is that behavior shouldnt become a habit...you get lucky once or twice.

In my case, it has more to do with having met Sara at CSTN last fall. While I don't know her real well, this seemed completely out of character for her. Thus the "I'm shocked" tongue in cheek comments.

Just curious - you never know what one has in their bag. Not that I would make any judgment on the contents.....

Nooo, to truly make the system hate you. Use small tank of liquid nitrogen and a big hammer.
By the time it gets investigated the whole thing is just a pile of shattered crumbs of metal & plastic.
