Got back about 6:30. The Zumo logged 406.8 miles driveway to driveway.
What a great ride.
Thanks for putting up with my short stops and U-turns.

The ride out west was great also. Not a lot of pics. Too busy riding. 475 miles for the day. I feel that I must comment on Bob's route for today:
kick ass Bob. Wee Storms doing wheelies, FJR dragging pegs, speed limit signs that are nothing more than a suggestion, what a great day.

The western loop went quite well. Awesome route Bob.
469 miles for the day..
Since I was sweep I can assure you that all laws of physics were obeyed without exception.
Today's key learning: Pilot road tires will manage to loft manure spreader drippings from a dry road surface.
Arrived home at 7:50pm... Only thing left is to take out the trash out prior to nap time.

we went out by Mineral Point (and made a Slimey Crud-like loop) -- oddly, the colors in teh Southern Unit of the Kettle were much more vivid than further north and west --
great weekend, though!

So a "Fall Color Cruise" turned into a 400mile plus day with not so many pics taken? Nice
Saturday I rode the Buell up around the Northern Kettle Moraine. The Kettle Moraine scenic drive was absolutely full of people driving 15mph, staring at leaves on the sides of the road. Full of Harleys too almost ready to fall over because they were limping along at what seemed to be idle. I think I took 1 picture. The excitement for the day though was when I went to shift into 5th gear and I couldn't find the shift lever with my foot. A shift linkage bolt backed out and left me unable to shift. Since I was sort of in the area I rode over to Mr. Soup's house in 4th gear to see if he had any extra replacement bolts that would work.
I used the "I'm stuck in 4th gear" excuse to blow a few stop signs and pass people on the Kettle moraine drive. It was fun.
Sunday I did my own thing as well and headed for the Dells area to see the color there. I was on the KLR so I went looking for roads that weren't as well maintained. I found a few.
I wandered over to Lake Delton.
Then wandered home through Horicon.
The color was better the closer I got to home. Weird.
Here is Holy Hill from the NW. I was zoomed in all the way here. It was neat to see it pop into the horizon.
430 miles on the KLR yesterday. The stock seat put the hurt on me.

I took my second ride into Chequamegon National Forest, albeit with a passenger and 2 others, during fall and have yet to be disapointed. Although I may need to add a dual sport into the stable pretty soon!!!
It was a fantasic day, although could have left the fire lane out of the route for the sake of sanity. I think my ride next week will be towards tunnelville road while enjoying the river valley and alphabet soup.
