I have a Stage 1 air cleaner kit in the box.  I looked at it, it looked at me.  Any tips before I put this baby on this weekend?

Thanks!
p.s. by 'maxi fuse' (in the instructions) do they mean 'main fuse'?

No big tiki involved -- bolt it in, go to Bonneville, make trophy girls swoon

Maxi-fuse is a new one on me . . . . sure it wasn't maxi-pad?

oh, wait, never mind.

(I'd guess, like you, "main" fuse -- though why a fuse is mentioned in an air clear instruction, only a lwayer could say)

Maxi fuse is like the standard 2 tab plastic fuses except much larger.  Over 1" across if I remember.

Tad...what year is your Harley? If it's a newer one -06 or newer- these babies are already running dangerously lean on the rear cylinder......there have been documented cases of rear cylinders running in excess of 500 degrees, so....if you haven't remapped the FI to a richer map or the Stage 1 kit does not include a new map, I would be veeeeeeery careful here...any further leaning out of the mixture is dangerous...

It's an 09 and I'm also adding the V&H Fuel Pak, so no worries about the lean mixture.  I picked the V&H over Powercommander as the only PCs sold in CA now are the street legal version, i.e. lean mixtures.  The V&H is still "off road only" so that will do nicely!

I think the maxi plug is the main 40amp fuse.  Still have no idea why that needs to be pulled to change the air filter kit..

There's no wiring, exposed or otherwise, that can be damaged by the air cleaner change out. I would not worry over it.

Yes, the FuelPak will definitely help.  Thumbsup
