Website Video Trailer

Well, this could either help or hurt my cause, but here is a quick video that I put together for my website as a "demo" of what my website might show you for videos.
The website hasn't been completely updated yet, but I thought I would throw this demo out there to get some feedback before it goes live.
Please keep in mind that:
1. I'm a physical therapist by trade, not fucking Steven Spielberg.
2. I do this for fun, like it or not, I hope you enjoy it.
3. If you have a constructive critisism (sp? too much Rum already ), great. If your gonna be a huge dick, . I'm trying, how about you?
That oughtta get the bee hive stirred up....
http://www.mydeo.com/videodownload.asp?YID=1742&CID=225160
Seriously, hope it just doesn't plain suck. If it does, I've got tough skin.
Cheers Everyone!!!

The actual URL were are trying to load has "...." in it. I'm betting you copy/pasted that from another site (or thread) where it does work. I've been burned by that before. That's not gonna work...

Although I'm in a hotel right now using their wifi I can't open the embed. It stops buffering at 39%.

The embed works but keeps stopping and buffering. It's almost impossible to watch. Don't know what the problem is becuase I'm at work and on a super fast connection.
What I can see looks good though.

I have the same problem, but even the same problem with the link listed that opens up Media Player. It starts playing for about 4 seconds, then just starts scrambling everything. What I can see looks pretty decent, but couldn't tell for sure.

Sorry for whatever the reason is guys, some can play it fine, others can't. I'm a bit stumped.
I reloaded the video, changed the link to a progressive download, and fixed the link in the first post.
Please let me know if its still a mess. Apologies to everyone who has tried, I appreciate your input and a chance to view the video.

It won't work on my primary system (XP / Firefox / GOM video player) but it did work on my media system (Vista / Firefox / Windows Media Player).
The site uses ASX streaming video so the destination system has to know how to use an ASX stream. When you hit the link a small text file is downloaded to the system (131 bytes) for the system to then pick-up and open the stream.
To the OP - are you set on using that video sharing site? Have you considered using a different site? Do they have an option to have a Flash based format? Either that or move to a straight file download format?

A bit of research on the ASX / ASF process. It seems, unless third parties have jumped on the bandwagon, it's a Microsoft specific (perhaps proprietary) format (read - audience limiting).
Here are a few sites that have some insight:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_Stream_Redirector
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/316992
http://www.webreference.com/js/column51/asf.html
Generally supported via Windows Media Player version 7+

I'm not a geek so I don't know what happened. I got about one minute into it when it started acting up then finally stopped. I'm using Safari on a Mc desktop.

It's nice to know Safari on a Mac can handle it. What is your default media player? Is there a Microsoft "Windows Media Player" for the Mac?

You tell me how to find out and I'll answer your question. And yes, I'm that computer stupid. Especially on an Apple.

Whatever changes you made worked great for me this time. No problem with it dropping off or anything like that. Looks like a great idea you have going and some fairly good camera angles.

Not in the plan, but if someone wants to pay me to play on a motorcycle, I've died and gone to heaven. I enjoy playing with computers, my way of doing that in a limited means, I guess.
Mounts are helmet mounted, tank mounted and varied multiangle mounts on various bolts around the bike.

I am trying the Mydeo.com site, based outta the UK. Great streaming site, low cost. Quality is the best I've found around. $7 US per month, based on total time vs. MB uploaded. Check it out.

The system is based upon the Windows Media Player and Movie Maker environment like you said.
The site uses ASX streaming video so the destination system has to know how to use an ASX stream. When you hit the link a small text file is downloaded to the system (131 bytes) for the system to then pick-up and open the stream.
Agreed, I have had feedback from other Mac users with no issues, thanks for your input also.
To the OP - are you set on using that video sharing site? Have you considered using a different site? Do they have an option to have a Flash based format? Either that or move to a straight file download format?
This is best sharing site for quality that I have come across to date, much better than Blip.tv, google and the tube. Blip.tv offers a flash format and also a choice of WMV under its movie pane, still good, but the quality is not on par with Mydeo as of yet.

I do agree - the quality and size is impressive.
