I've had it with the stock seat on the FJR. But before I shell out the ducks for a Corbin or Russ Meyer etc., I would like to know how may of you have tried bicyclist stretch pants and has it made that big a difference in seat comfort.

Yes, tried them and no, they didn't cut it.  Pop for the saddle.  It's worth it and you'll end up there eventually no matter how much you spend on "cheaper" solutions.

The combined experience of FJR owners sez to go with Bill Mayer (company now run by son Rocky), Rick Mayer (Bill's other son), or Russell (designed by Bill Mayer).

I went with Rick Mayer and haven't regretted it.  Had a Bill Mayer saddle on my old Connie and loved that one too.

I had a gen-2 FJR and the stock seat sucked (for me) no matter what I wore. I swapped out for a heated Corbin and it was nice. Check with EJWorthen - he ended up with my old Corbins and not sure if he likes them as much as I did.

I've found the padded mtn bike shorts to help regardless of the seat. Won't ride more than hour without them. They are cheap and worth a shot. Avoiding pants with bumpy seams/pockets is HUGE. You want nice flat material anywhere your butt touches the saddle. Seams cause pressure points that cause aches. Jeans are particularly bad.

Sorry. I meant Rick Mayer. Maybe someday I'll get something from "Russ Meyer" if my wife doesn't find out.  Lol
