A good friend and I went for a Sunday ride around the San Diego area. We went up to Palomar Mountain and hit its surrounding roads. We also hit the Sunrise Hwy east of Julian. We then hit San Diego and had a kick-ass BBQ ribs lunch at Phil's BBQ near downtown. Afterwards, we visited an area that is a glider park overlooking a nude beach! Weird to see naked people walking around on the beach. No. I didn't take pics of them!
This was one of SoCal's most beautiful days with crystal clear blue skies and cool temperatures. It was spectacular! It was fantastic to ride the roads around this area on a sportbike.

Here is a view of Lake Henshaw as we were coming down Palomar Mountain. Just look at that blue sky! Riding down the road was just heaven. Cool temps, clear roads, no cops, no squids.

We stopped somewhere along Sunrise Hwy to catch our breath and enjoy the view of the desert from 6,000 feet. Up there, the temps got too chilly which required the use of our heated gear. My Firebolt rests at one of the scenic viewpoints along Sunrise Hwy.

After a hearty meal at Phil's BBQ near downtown San Diego, we stopped by this Glider "port" and a nude beach down below. The visibility went on for miles and miles with the blue Pacific Ocean looking so serene.

The Parasailers glided around the windswept cliffs above while nude sunbathers walked around down below near the waterline. There is a constant up-draft of wind in this area. So much so that gliders can sit there and gain altitude at will. It was fun to watch them going back and fort.

The gliders would sometimes sit still and look like they're just hovering! Here, a double occupant Paraglider goes by. This is about the closest thing you can get to flying like a bird!

Here is a view of the Paraglider traffic!
