On Sunday morning We met at the Edmonds-Kingston ferry, north of Seattle.
Dennydog and I left on the 8:40am ferry to Kingston, then rode all the way to Cape Flattery, which is the furthest NW you can be in the continental US. It was a very nice mild day, with the fall colors coming in, it was a beautiful ride. After Port Angeles, it became more overcast, but the roads became much more interesting. We took Hwy112 , which is a great road with lots of twisty bits, to Neah Bay. As we neared the cape, the air was much damper and the road had traces of wet. We didn't stop for more than a few minutes before we arrived at the destinatiion and that's really the only place we took pictures.

The view from the first viewing place. This is a rain forest, on the Makah Reservation, so they built raised stands to safely see everything. Its a sheer drop off cliff all around.

Here is a look at the other side.

Looking south from the end of the cape.

I don't know the name of the island directly to the west. I looked it up. Tatoosh Island.

North is Vancouver Island with a ship passing. Most of the time, the Island with the light house and Vancouver Island can't be seen due to fog. We were lucky.

There were many more people out there than I expected. It seemed that about half of them were foreign visitors.

Getting ready for the long ride home.

When we arrived at the ferry, there was a 1.6 mile backup of cars.

Happily, being motorcycles, we could just head to the front of the line.

I got home at 6:30pm. A long days ride!
