Ok, this is for Rude Rydah Thumbsup
I was reading the "tatto and a job" thread and noticed a lot of different opinions. That being said, there seems to be a number of ST.Ners that are proud of the artwork they have. All the more reason to post it up. If you have the ink, drop off a pic or two.

As for me, none what so ever, though I think they speak wonders of the person wearing them. I do understand that most tattoos tell a story about a time in someones life, good, bad or indifferent.

Here is my little guy.
He's about  8 in long. Nose to tail.

After I got him my life changed. I lost a key person in my life who I felt was allways looking out for me and covering my back and I felt alone and very vulnerable. With out her my life was slowly falling appart and every one was stabbing me in the back. When I got this little guy, all the daggers went away.

Is that a GSP?

If so...
I don't need one tattooed on me. Mine is currently on my lap...all 80+ lbs of him.

Not a great picture, but gives you the idea of the size and location.  Being on my side it always stretches and looks funny when I try to take a pic of it myself.

Eventually she's going to have a leash in her mouth (I did not realize the first guy was gonna screw it up that bad, Nate was able to fix everything else but the mouth still bothers me) that'll be attached to another dog.

After the first experience (guy had done some nice tatts, just turns out he couldn't do dogs for shit) I've turned into a tattoo snob and only go to really, really good artists.  Next tatt might be in Houston.

Yeah, what the hell.

My next door neighbor was a tattoo scratcher when I was in college.  Used to do his work in my room because his was a mess.  He threw a little free work my way when I was seventeen.

Still need to get a treble clef on the other shoulder and get the gay unicorn colors blended a bit.

Here they come.  I apologize for the quality of some of them, skin is difficult to take close ups of, along with the fact the I am a little hairy and in no mood to shave just for you bastards...

I'll post them by appendage.

There they all are, even the one I regret.  I wouldn't undo a single one of them, though.  I'd go back and do a better job of planning the placement, though.

Hopefully my girls will listen to their Dad if they want tattoo's and let me help them make good decisions, especially if it comes to "tattoo parties" and "a guy I know who tattoo's".

I count 21 separate tattoo's.  Including reworking old crappy tattoo's and multiple sittings for the same tattoo's, I'd say I've been under the needle 30 or so times.

If these images in my skin preclude me from working for a company, I am sure there are a dozen other reasons I wouldn't have been a good fit there to begin with and I'd rather screen out immediately.  And believe it or not, I do function in a customer relation role with these tattoo's, I work a little harder to these new acquaintances to get over the "shock" of how colorful I am, but I accept this and just focus on doing a good job.

Hopefully, when I'm old enough, I'll be accepted as an eccentric, then I'll REALLY be able to be the guy who lives in my head!

Nicely done. I have always been an existentialist from way back. Albert Camus and his essay "The Myth of Sisyphus" was really the inspiration for it. It took me a long time to decide what to get.

My next will be Prometheus.

That's one's faded enough it'd be easy for a good artist to cover up.   Bigok  I'd not let many people mess with my tatt in fear of them making it worse, but if you find someone that's really good then it'll work great.

I might be getting a part time job soon, I think part of that money might go in the tattoo fund. Bigsmile

I don't have one yet, but I was planning to get one as a memorial for a close friend (Nate) who passed away a in July of '07. Just as it was coming together and I was getting ready to come home from Afghanistan, another close friend, who was like a brother to both Nate and I, was killed in Oakland. That threw me for a loop in a lot of ways, and I'm thinking of creating something for both of them. (Anyone familiar with the East Bay Rats and/ or Godspeed in Oakland, CA would know both Nate and Aaron).

Also, and much less profound, I agreed with some other fanatical Florida Gator fans that we'd get Gator tats if Florida wins the National Championship again next month. But we were drinking, and maybe they don't remember.  Lol

I have a conceptual idea of another that would symbolize my naval service, including my time in Afghanistan and (maybe) the Bronze Star I was awarded there.

It's obviously an attempt at humor, otherwise she would have used theta instead of x.  Razz

It's Euler's identity. e∏i+1=0

One of the "Beautiful" equations.  ...or so I am told.  Lol

edit:  I asked her if she'd get in trouble for cribnotes.  She just let me know her Linear Algebra prof approves.

Yes, but that x represents an angle in the complex plane.

e^ix = cos(x) + isin(x)

Because it's really an angle, theta is often used.  I think my complex analysis prof. would have failed me if I'd used x, but professors are allowed to be odd when teaching grad level math classes.

Just saw that on Wiki.  I guess it's a specific form of the general equation you stated.

I never got to complex analysis.   Razz

Here's my tattoo of Kokepelli (modified to make it look like he's playing the clarinet) and my tribal armband.

Pay no attention to the leopard pattern on my arms.  I used a motorcycle jacket that had a weave pattern for the summer, but got a funky sunburn pattern.

I approve!  And yes, it is a beautiful equation, especially when you plug in pi for x/theta.

What's next?  Pics of the Higgs boson?

Played for 13 years (yes, all the way through grad school).  Always thought it would be cool to have an oboe tat with flames coming out of the bell.

What's the difference between an oboe and a bassoon?

The bassoon burns longer!

My only tattoo.  Wraps around my arm and has a total of five turtles in it.  Four of them, two larger and two smaller, represent my wife and I and our two kids.  The fifth is more of a ghost turtle (not as detailed and fades away) that represents my wife's little brother who died a couple weeks after our son was born.

Here's mine, I am not particularly religious, I was raised catholic and I am of Celtic descent (Irish & German) so I felt it was fitting.  A good friend of mine drew the artwork.

This is a photo of a photo, this picture is special to me because it was taken by a friend who wanted to use her antique wooden box camera and submit it for a tattoo / photography contest.  If I recall correctly she came in second.  It is the best photo I have of the tattoo.  Also it is very difficult to take a picture of the center of my own back without being a contortionist.......
