Now, a flaming oboe down the back would be totally cool.

Are you an oboist?

(Have we had this conversation before?)

I've heard of a rusty trombone, but not a flaming oboe.
Is that like an oral roberts?

Here's mine, the moment it was inked.  I don't plan on getting any others.

Those of you not in Cali may not fully understand this tat.

This is, second perhaps only to Sisyphus, an incredible tat by meaning.  I am still stunned by the reasoning of this one.  And truly, I appreciate this singular tat more and more each day I spend on the road.

Played for 13 years (yes, all the way through grad school).  Always thought it would be cool to have an oboe tat with flames coming out of the bell.

What's the difference between an oboe and a bassoon?

The bassoon burns longer!

My only tattoo.  Wraps around my arm and has a total of five turtles in it.  Four of them, two larger and two smaller, represent my wife and I and our two kids.  The fifth is more of a ghost turtle (not as detailed and fades away) that represents my wife's little brother who died a couple weeks after our son was born.

I remember once meeting the boyfriend of one of my students after teaching a beginning riding course. The guy had swastika tattoos on him and swastikas (and other offensive stuff) on his beanie helmet and such.

Here's mine, I am not particularly religious, I was raised catholic and I am of Celtic descent (Irish & German) so I felt it was fitting.  A good friend of mine drew the artwork.

This is a photo of a photo, this picture is special to me because it was taken by a friend who wanted to use her antique wooden box camera and submit it for a tattoo / photography contest.  If I recall correctly she came in second.  It is the best photo I have of the tattoo.  Also it is very difficult to take a picture of the center of my own back without being a contortionist.......
