AT all of 3 mph today I gave the Bandit an owiee.  I aws in a lane that merged on street to another.  The lady ahead of me to off, or so I thought.  I pulled forward while looking to the left to insure the way as clear.  Little did I knwo she had stopped about 10' after she started.  I realized this as the bandito merged with her right rear tail light.  Broke her tail light lens and did this to the bandit.

Once again, it just goes to show that cagers should ALWAYS cover their accelerators and check their mirrors when coming to a stop in case a brain-dead rider isn't paying attention behind them.

  Razz

Seriously, sorry your bike got an owie. Glad it was just a low-speed smooshie, though.

Bigok I suppose brain dead would sum it up at that moment.  I might just fix teh signal and call it good if I can get the fairing piece to mate up properly.  I will most likely replace the plastic pop in retainers with screws and hidden nuts.

I did almost that exact thing in my car years ago. I expected the driver to continue, and she didn't. Paid for that one outta my pocket.

I know that fairing very well after my whoops in June. You can fix it. :-)

Did that once myself, but in a car. Looks painful on the Bandit. I can feel the pain thinking about if I did that to mine. Rough luck.  Sad

I am now looking at it as an opportunity to customize a bit.

Buy a set of frame sliders and say good bye to low speed damage. Luckily, I installed a set as I have dropped it about four times. I'm not too graceful. Crazy

I have thought about sliders, but they would not have helped here.  The accident was at about 3MPH and the bike did not go down.
