Indeed, his 2nd book, More Proficient Motorcycling, is excellent as well.

It's a great book but it's much of the same stuff as the first and I didn't get that much more out of reading it.

What's nice about his books is that he spends some time discussing the physics behind why the bike behaves the way that it does which, for me, is an important component to it all.

I agree. In school I didn't mind learning stuff, but I had a much easier time of it when the instructor could explain to me how it might actually be useful in every day life. Hough's book does that for me. Don't tell me how to steer. Tell me why to steer in a particular manner...

You might like this one: http://ridinginthezone.com/index.html  Wink It comes out in January through Whitehorse Press.

I wrote this for folks just like you, who would rather ride than spend a whole lot of time reading. It also has a Video to help explain the concepts and techniques. You can see the video clip about countersteering on the web site.

Ken -- I hadn't checked this thread in awhile and just saw your listing for your own book.  Very cool.  I try to read at least one technique book a year -- I'll put you on this year's list.

I see the book is listed on amazon.com as not yet released.  Is it still slated for this month?

EDIT:  Oops.  Never mind.  Amazon says the publication date is 2-15.

Amazon is a bit slow.  They don't even have the current book cover yet. The books are available now. I have some in stock if you want one. go to www.ridinginthezone.com

Haven't had a chance to read it yet, but will soon.

Thanks Ken! Bigok
