I'm currently looking for some new exhaust for the RC51, since I went back to oem cans when I got the bike to have two good cans for the first inspection.

I stumbled across a youtube video of a set of cans on a rc51 that had a nice bark, but seemed pretty tame at idle. They had badges that read MiVV, which of course had me off googling the evening away trying to find them for the RC51.
I found the company site and they currently don't list the RC51 among their regular production kits, but I did find a slip on for the 98-2001 VFR's.

Now I still have the factory can on VFR, because I just never had a good reason not to before this.

Anyway, here is the big questions.
Does anybody here have any experience with MiVV exhausts?
What bike do/did you have the exhausts on?
Was it a full system or just a slip on?
Which can was it?

Hey! Fellow Rc owner (SP1) who happens to have experience with MIVV.

They're a lesser known but very high quality company on par with Termignoni, Akra, and Qaut D. I have a set of their carbon cans on my 749S and love'em. Their sound is deeper than Termi's and are pretty loud without the baffles. Build quality is top notch!

On my RC I have a pair of Ti Ladybird cans made by Arata out of Japan (on Akra ti header and mids). They're superlight and are without a doubt the loudest can you can get for your RC, it's basically like running straight pipes. These cans along with a PC3 and custom map gained me 5hp!

http://i431.photobucket.com/albums/qq37/redblackmonster/photo2-1.jpg

Sato is the most common aftermarket cans for RC's but I like to try to be a little different. I would'nt have bothered with the Ladybirds but unfortunately my original carbon Akra's got munched last spring on the track...

Since you're in NJ, you should come check out www.suspectsunlimited.com and come out for a ride!

Oh, forgot the mention... I'm using MIVV headers and mids along with the carbon cans on the 749... both purchased from www.pjsparts.com

Good Luck!

I have a MiVV GP Carbon on my Speed Triple.  Lower tone, nice and growling, but not over-loud with the (removable) dB killer left in.  Workmanship seems pretty high, everything fit perfectly, and nothing's gone wrong with it in the first 1000 miles or so.

I got it from PJ's Parts.  I too didn't see the RC51 listed there, but I'd call PJ and ask about it before giving up.

Well here is my double dilemma.
I need an exhaust that can be quiet enough for my RC so that I don't set off car alarms when I'm slipping out for an early Sunday morning ride.
But I want it to still have a nice deep bark when I get out to the twisty roads.
I'm not talking about a set of slip-ons for the rc, I plan to do the whole system and a power commander

I've heard Sato's and they can be nice, but the price is off the charts for me right now.
So for now my RC is running a set of OEM cans to replace the badly crunched and torn open (thanks loads Philadelphia police towing) TBR cans that it had when I bought it.

But the other part of the MiVV exhaust is that they list a slip on application for my VFR (its an 2001, non-vtec).
I'd like to see if I can get a suono can and a low mid pipe to work.

I've got a MIVV half system on my 06 GSXR 1000 and am very happy with it Thumbsup. It has an awesome sound and great build quality. The instructions sucked, but no biggie. http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o117/Hinterlan/YFZ028.jpg                    On the RC front I tracked down and managed to get a set of K-Factory Ti.'s Probably a lot easier now, but 4 yr's ago quite the winding road Crazy   http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o117/Hinterlan/summerfall06073.jpg   http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o117/Hinterlan/summerfall06072.jpg

I'm not sure about other systems but my Ladybirds have enough of a difference a/f -wise when I run either with or without the baffles so I just keep the baffles out.

Sato's are great cans but they're getting harder to get new and the wait is getting longer and longer. For whatever reason, a lot of folks are getting rid of their RC's right now so you can probably find something used out there, just make sure you check up on the Wera and Speedzilla forums!

Well I'll be running with the baffles almost all the time since I won't be taking it off the street for a long time.
I'm on Speedzilla, but you have to watch the classifieds like a shark when it comes to the SATO's right now.

Also, I really need mufflers that are pretty quiet at idle and light throttle. Otherwise I think that my neighbors have some serious complaints when I leave at 4:30-5:00 Sunday mornings for a ride. As it is I try to be real easy on either bike when leaving the neighborhood. Believe me I've heard the bitching before when I used to take the one mustang out late at night and it could set off car alarms up and down the block. So I don't want to go there again, but at the same time, I don't want to be oem quiet when I get to nice roads either. The Sato's that I have seen are pretty loud all the time even at idle.
Not to mention like you, I tend to try and find something different, that is part of why I bought an RC51 instead of the usual sv1000, gsxr1000, cbr1000rr, zx10's that are everywhere around here.

Gotta give props to the 'zilla folks though. When I saw how bad the left tbr Can was damaged and needed a cheap set of cans fast. One of those guys came across with a barnburner of a good price on what where pretty much brand new oem cans. Then another member there asked about the right side can and bought it from me. In the end I think I spent all of couple bucks on shipping to get a pair of cans on the RC so that I could register and inspect it.

The MIVV Brand is much more common in Europe, and it might be that those folks made the midpipes or used different midpipes.

If you send me an e-mail so I have your contact onfo, I can ask MIVV if they have any that are available or they could easily make.

Power wise I'm not sure of what all I gained, I didn't get the PC set up till after I put the pipes on. I think it dynoed at 127HP? They sound great! Like a set of Moriwakis I guess. Nice quality, though for what they cost I'm not sure I'd get them again. Not theres anything wrong with them, just dang expensive $$!!
