It's about done here too, although the C14 is ready to go IF we get a decent day on a weekend. Got 13,000 kms this year including Deal's Gap/Cherohala/Nashville and a trip around the Cabot Trail. Seems the season gets shorter each year Sad, or maybe we're just getting older). Looking forward to summer of 2012 when I will finally get to retire after 37 years  Bigsmile. May have to buy a Wing and do a complete North America trip.

The Triumph is parked some weeks ago but the KLR will ride on !!  I plan a backroads ride this weekend and will post pics. The snowline on the mountains is creeping lower but I was talking with an old Doukhabor fella today who guaranteed that there would be little snow in the valley this year. Ony years with 7 in them have lots of snow  Lol Bigok

I figure to ride till December but the mileage is going down for sure.

About 12k on the ST, a few on K'llr. Southern New Mexico and back was the biggie this year. Both bike's filled, Stabil'd and tendered. Might get the Kawi out just for giggles a few more times. Hoping for big snow in the Rockies...... new stick on order.

It appears summer ended the same day for the both of us Leon.

I managed to squeeze 14 k of riding in this year, but did not manage to take in any huge trips. (maybe next year)

I guess I could have got in a few more days but light becomes a rare thing here, and we did get a dusting and some freezing rain in. Next weeks forecast is all below 0 Celsius. While I am equipped to ride in the cold, I don't really enjoy myself, so time to get at those winter projects.

I got in another ride today.   Bigok

Working from home has it's advantages.  When ZED suggested I come out & meet him for lunch it was 8 degrees, I took a bike!

We'll try to keep a pair of bikes runnable all winter for those chinook opportunities.  My preference (for being able to negotiate the icy alley) is to have the XT available all winter, but right now I can't ride it any more until it gets some carb maintenance.

Significant amounts of mileage definitely aren't going to happen until spring though. Sad

Put my scoots away last Saturday, naturally, we had a ridable day this week :/

Good.. okay, great summer! Rode up lake Superior on a 3 day trip with my GF. Rode down to Port Dover with my brother (we've both ridden since our early teens, but we've never managed to ride together!) to see my Dad for Fathers day/13th - they haven't seen each other in nearly 20 years. Finally I rode down to WV for the FJRForums' Eastern Owners Meet and learned two things: 1) I don't hate riding LD anymore. I used to despise it, and 2) WV is riding nirvana.

Total mileage was almost spot on 20Km.

Next year? I've plans for Maurice National Park in Quebec,  either CFR in the Kootenays or down to the Adirondacks, and EOM/WV again.

Now, if I could just find a buyer for my Mean Streak, I could spring for a Versys for commuting, fire roading.

It was a good riding season this year, I put just over 16k on the ST.  While most of that was commuting, we did get away for a couple of longer rides into NY and PA.

I took the bags off and put stabilizer in the tank, but still need to do an oil change.  Maybe tomorrow.

I'm done, I think.  The Strom is not completely "put away", so if we get a half decent day, I could still get out.  But soon I will change the oil and pull the battery and cover the beast for the winter.  It was a good year, with a run down to Arkansas and a few other shorter trips.  I had planned to get to Mosport, but didn't manage (probably a good thing, given the weather).  I managed one last good run at the end of October http://www.sport-touring.net/forums/index.php/topic,32924.0.html.  An Alberta clipper is due later this week, I guess it's done till next year.....sigh.
Time to get the maps out and plan the Utah trip for June!!

1,000 kms on a BMW should consume less than a gallon or two. So don't sweat it, it's within specs.

About 30k Km's this year. Made it to Yellowstone & area in June, Southern Oregon in July, Mesa Verde, Co. and Carlsbad, New Mexico in October, plus a few shorter rides.

Next year it's east again for Canada Day in Ottawa and maybe tootle around that area for a week or so before heading back west. Last time I did an IB ride I said it would be the last but I have a couple more planned now. We'll see.

It's over!
I managed to put up 8K this year. I had a hip replacement in April, so I lost a few months early on...

So now I sit and throw wood in the fireplace. I've got the catalogues lined up, let the Farkle list begin!
It wont be long... right...?
