I'm looking at getting a Tourmaster Super Mini Tank Bag. It seems to fit the bill pretty well. Anyone have experience with it?

I have a plastic tank. Do the strap mounts work ok?

I've been using a Chase Harper 1150 tank bag for many years.  Love it.   Inlove  Straps are very secure.  A seam split after about 4 years or so, I can't even remember how old it was when that happened.  I sent it off to them and they fixed it for free, and even threw in an extra map bag for free.  Great service.  I'm a big fan.

+1 on the Luggage Locker.

I have the Laptop Locker version. The previous tankbag I had must have gotten a little sand under it and scratched the heck out of my tank. I like that this one "floats" over the tank, never slides around, has a built-in lock, and you can get different bags to snap on as easily as changing food processor blades - though my laptop locker easily holds plenty of stuff (laptop and all accessories plus other junk I might carry in a laptop bag, or a plastic bag's worth of groceries, or a twelve pack of my favorite beverage. They even make an insulated picnic lunch bag.) The guy I dealt with - Les, is a great guy (I think he's the owner and he was the one answering the phone when I got mine a few years back) - he'll customize one for you, such as having velcro-on holders for cell phone, sunglasses, coins, or whatever on the top.

It's gotten good reviews over on one of the V-Strom boards. No personel experience with it but have had good luck with my other Tourmaster gear.

I just got the Cortech 14L version of that bag for my FJR.  The magnets hold well and it seems well put together, I am sure the straps work equally as well.

I would give it a  Thumbsup

Later.

I use the luggagelocker too.  Perfect.  Locks on, removes in seconds. Impossible to scratch the tank.

I've got the magnetic version and really like it.  It's great for both day trips where you don't want to have a bunch of things crammed in your pockets (cell phone, hat, camera, sunglasses, tire pressure guage, etc.) and I also found it really useful on multiday trips because it's easy to pop off of the bike when you stop somewhere and carry around so you don't have to leave your valuable electronics on your bike or carry them.

Downsides: the rain cover takes up a fair amount of storage space when not in use; it really is small - can't fit a bottle of water in it unless it's one of the little 10oz ones (which aren't very common at gas stations), so when you buy a drink you've gotta commit to finishing it.

The other reasons I really like this tank bag are bike specific: I have a sloped tank/raised gas cap which was causing problems with my large magnetic tank bag by letting wind get under the front.  Also, once I put lower bars on my bike the larger tank bag was interferingwith low speed turning.

Here's a picture of the bag in action:
