Wife decided to tell me the other day that I should cancel all the vacation plans I was making for september. Keep in mind, the plans I was laying out were for her 35th b-day present. Either we go to Hawaii fo a week or do a tour of the 4 corners area for 2 weeks, since we're both off at that time.
I couldn't figure out WTF was wrong w/ her. She was really excited about doing either and all of a sudden she wants nothing to do w/ it? Headscratch That's when she dropped the bomb................................... ..........

She's approximately 3 weeks pregnant!  EEK!

A few months earlier than planned, we were hoping to make this happen after her b-day, but nothing we can't handle. I just feel bad she's gonna miss out on a well deserved trip. Oh well, I'll just have to make it up to her on her 40th! As far as being a parent, I can only hope to do as good a job as mine did. Beerchug

That is great news, Ed!  Being a dad is everything I thought it would be, and more (good and bad).  I wish you and your wife the best.

That may be a test..don't fail it!

I fail the "you can still go if you want to" test all the time.  Embarassment

Besides, you'll have a newborn right about that time. I would guess that you probably won't even want to leave even if you have the opportunity.

The beginning of a new adventure (nods to Lou Reed) -- very cool news, congratulations . . . .

I, too, fail the "go ahead if you want to" test regularly -- the good news is that after the first couple/three dozen, it stops mattering to anyone .  . . ..

another soul to love -- what fun!

Awesome man- congrats.  Did you have have the "Holy-crap-what-have-we-done" moment yet?  I remember that clearly.  Live is comfortable, everythings good, and suddenly this massive change.  It's awesome though- they are a blast.  I spent a large part of yesterday wrestling and generally hanging out with my 2-year old boy (Mom and the 5 year old girl were doing "crafts").   Thumbsup

If I were you though, I would take the Alaska trip because right after this one, you are probably going to get the "We can't just stop at one, and I am not getting any younger speech. Bigsmile

But I wouldn't trade being a parent for anything.

Congrats.  Bigok

My wife found out she was 4 weeks pregnant...2 weeks after our trip to Deals Gap.  Rolleyes  Now we know why she was getting a little sick halfway through the Dragon from all the turns. Lol  At least I was taking it easy and riding a nice smooth pace.

It took a few months to sink-in that I would be riding solo for at least a year and might only get in a few short trips now and then.

Agreed!!!!!!!!  I totally failed my test as well.  My daughter was 2 weeks late...and I had a trip planned 6 weeks after she ended up being born.  My ex-wife told me "you can still go if you want"...well, I went.  Was a major first step leading towards our divorce.

Details around the trip: was only 4 days (one out, two there, one back)
My then mother in law was staying at my house...enough said.
