Dunlop D-607.

 Withstupid

Those tires are fantastic.  I've worn out 2 (~12,000km each) rears & one front (~18,000km I think on it) so far & they are definitely my tire of choice.  They give a good ride on the pavement & handle gravel & dry (compact) dirt very well too.

If you do serious off road with the KLR, a second set of wheels with a set of Dunlop D-606's on them is an excellent choice.

I run TKC 80'S on my KLR. They realy hook up well in the dirt, And have done very well in deep mud. As far as the hiway, they are a little loud, but havent had any problems with them. Good tires.

I am running Kenda 270's and they are showing little wear at about 2000km.

They are not as aggressive as the 606's for sure and are about a 50/50 tire. They are good in gravel, but in deep mud they clog up a fair bit. So much depends on where you ride and what you are riding in. Kenda's are cheap like Borscht too. I bought mine locally and a set was about $100 even from the local stealer.

If I could try the tire of my dreams I think it would be a Mefo.

I'm ordering a set for my XR this winter. http://www.klr650.com/MEFO%20Sport%20Trail.html  I might even try them on the Strom when the Tourances wear out.

I'm running Michelien Anakees (loved them on my GS when I had it) and when they wear out I've got a set of Mefo Explorers in the garage.  My two buddies are running Mefos on their '08's and love 'em.
