Ok, I must have missed this somewhere along the way (or not?) but has the Futura been discontinued? I do not see it on the Aprilia site or maybe I am at the wront site.
This was one of the most comfortable bikes I ever sat on. It was the perfect fit for me, though I'm sure not so for everyone. Just wondering if its gone.

Yes, it's gone. There are many used Futura's out there though. Great bike; very underated.

A great bike indeed. I think all the Aprilia's are underated. Anyway we are finally get a dealer nearby here and I am quite disappointed that the Futura is no longer in the line up.

I got to sit on one for the first time...It is a lot bigger bike than I thought. I was thinking it was like a Sprint St...But it was closer to an FJR or ST, personally...
Great bike to sit on, can only imagine the ride with that nice big seat!

I believe about a year ago there were still some new Futuras in crates for about $8500 bucks, if you can believe that. I have no idea if there are still any left.
Who is the new dealer?

Love the pic. Considered all three of those bikes and settled on the Futura. It was down to the Futura and the Multi, just couldnt get passed the front end and the maintence.

Yep I called around before I bought my Duc. None in the Silver or Grey color. I passed on a red one only because of reported low fuel mileage. I always loved the looks.

Not sure of the name of it, would have to look it up. It is the Suzuki/Victory dealer in Knoxville TN. They just added Aprilia's.

I believe that people were still finding new, in crate, bikes up to this fall. So have that dealer make a call to Aprilia USA.
There always seems to be one on ebay or apriliaforum as well. There was just a nice one with some great upgrades.
http://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=100730
However, there is a rumor that a replacement will surface and you may want to wait for that.

Hmmmm I was wondering if maybe they were working on a new improved Futura or some other new sport-tourer with a different name.
Maybe even a ABS option ?

Boy am I ever starting to feel like typhoid Mary. I bought a Aprilia Falco, because dealer thought it was beyond economical repair. (Took me 2 hours and $200 to fix it) 3000 original miles and looked like it came off the show room floor. Then a 2nd Falco, same deal....incompetent dealers. Falco are not in the line-up for Aprilia any longer.
Now I just added to my Aprilia stable a 2003 Futura....6000 miles on it. Discontinued by Aprilia.
They are great bike, and for someone like me that never takes anything to a dealer, but just fixes it myself, I could not ask for a better bike.
I really should sell one Falco, but but have decided to move the body work off the red one, and put it on the blue one. The I will have matching red Aprilias. I just like the way the blue Falco handles a bit better than the red one.
Anybody done an "Iron Butt" run on the Futura?? I just signed up for one in May.

I'm lookin forward to one this coming summer. Nothing official, but I'm looking to mirror the 1000 mile journey I had on my SV1000S last fall, and I have a good feeling i'll be in much less pain..

The Futura is no where near as large as an FJR. In comparison, the Futura is
tiny

Did a Nova Scotia trip which totaled about 2900 miles despite being trailered all the way up to Yarmouth. The way home was unforgetable. Made it home to Chicago in two days. I rode from Cape Breton through pea soupy rain to Portland Maine and only had a 750 mile day cause I got lost in New Brunswick. I had old maps in my GPS and it didn't recognize the roads I was on because the roads were new. Couldn't find a map anywhere. It kept showing me off road in the grass.
I slept and then rode a straight 18 hours, 1090 miles to Chicago. That's my life's longest ride cause I'll never ride a crazy stretch that long again. I was seeing things near the end. That ride bonded me to my RST. It ran flawlessly.

I'm kind of glad they don't make Futuras anymore. It was a close 2nd on my decision on my Sprint ST. It just made my decision easier.

To each his own, but I'd rather have a used Futura than any new ST being offered... but that's me. I'm a bit biased.
Then again I did sit on a K1200 GT at the bike show that I kinda liked, but I could buy 3 Futuras for that price...
