Does anyone have any news to report on the Norge 1200.

Is it coming to the US ? If so any projected dates for arrival at the dealers ? Is it on display at the IMS shows that have already taken place this year ? Is Guzzi even set up at the IMS shows this year ?

Some of the magazines have had some mini-reviews on it so I assume it must be coming sometime in 07 (or not).

Thanks

I think I read a post here somewhere where the brother in law of the poster talked to a Guzzi dealer's cousin who said February...

At least one is hitting the dealer in Steubenville, OH in about a week.  It's already sold, but the dealer will have it on the floor for a few days for drooling purposes.

So they are slowly but surely on the way.

Fred, is Destination in Knoxvegas and Myers in Asheville the only dealers in our area ?

I believe so, although I think I saw that Myers had dropped Guzzi. There's ATD in Atlanta, but I don't know about Nashville.

I was in the KC International dealler yesterday, Dec 1St and they said any day now for the Norge, and I was looking a Breva 1100.

I dont have a Guzzi, I dont have any real cash, I am in school so I have no real income.

I do have a bike though and its all paid for.

Anyway, I just feel that bikes like the Breva 1100 put other bikes to shame, build quality, paint quality and egros.

I meam they come standard with steel brake lines and such.

Great looking bikes, I like them.

Saw them at the motorcycle show today, 12/2, and I really like the bike.  It fit me very well and the fit and finish seemed good.  The dealer is getting his stock in a couple of weeks, already on the way he says, and is offering demo rides.  I plan on going.  I am really looking a year or 2 down the road.  It seems like a really good middle weight touring bike with pretty good handling.  Kind or pricey at 15K.  Puts it in the thick of all the other higher powered sports- touring models which may be pretty tough company.   I really liked the size and feel, now to see how it goes.  Smile

After all it is a guzzi and you know what Dr. Gil says....

Don't you?

My dealer (in Woodstock, IL) says he should have a Norge by this coming weekend!

He's got 3 Griso 1100s and two Breva 1100s...I think I'm in love with all of them!

According to their website they have indeed dropped Guzzi.
http://www.myersmotorcycles.com/main.htm

You can still get service if you are a customer and it says they will continue to sell used Guzzi's.

I had not been over there in about a year and a half.
Thanks for the info.

I sat on one at the Toronto show this weekend. It's a very attractive bike by my standards. The issue here is that there's really no dealer network to support the brand. And I figure that the parts shelf at the dealership probably includes an oil filter and maybe a sparkplug too.

Same thing I heard from a new dealer in CT.  Which is a lot faster than any new Guzzi model introduced this century!  I'm still waiting to see a California Vintage which is just a parts bin special.

A Guzzisti on v11lemans.com has picked up one of the first, if not the first North American Norge from MPH cycles in Houston.

I was there too, and was a little disappointed by the Norge, maybe because I had such high expectations. Shock is either way too soft or it was set up that way, which doesn't make sense, knowning a thousand riders will be sittin on it. Bags seem small. Pillion accommodations seem crapped. Instrument/gauges are perpendicular, ie they do not tilt up to the rider for easy "reading at a glance". It is however a beautiful bike.

I much preferred the California Vintage, and if I was going to be "picked" by a Guzzi, it would be that one, if I could swap for sensible bar and make sure the 5 cogger that comes with it in place of a 6, is NOT the old version, ie pre Sport 1100.  The Griso is a knock out to look at, the exhaust canister is a real treat, but my knees hit the side body panel over top of the cylinder heads.

I also thought the Norge was a very attractive bike, one that I could happily cover lots of miles on. I find myself torn between it and the Griso though. Decisions, decisions, maybe I need one of each! Bigsmile
I spoke to a sales guy on the stand about the dealership issue and he said that they were addressing it by getting some of the Piaggio dealerships to also handle Guzzis, so there should in theory be about four Guzzi dealerships in the GTA. I hope they turn out to be proper dealerships rather than the filter and sparkplug variety, but time will tell.

This will be a huge improvement. Instead of placing a long distance call to find that
the part is back-ordered indefinitely, you will be told in person!  Bigsmile

Great looking bike.  Sat on one about 3 weeks ago at my dealership in Maryland.  Bike comes with power windshield, ABS, and heated grips.  Price was $14,990.00 but he was reducing it to $14,490.00.  Thought it was expensive, but it is actually a little cheaper than a Honda ST1300 with ABS.   Bigsmile

Just get one of each. Once you have one Guzzi you are hooked you'll want more of them. The only thing holding me back from having a stable of them is a garage and the $$$. Needless to say they are habit forming.
