I was looking through my photos today and pictures I never noticed much were getting my attention. This is one of them. Composition is something I fuss with a lot because I get impatient. It really takes me a day or two with the camera to relax and get back into it.

OK, I searched and came up empty, so I apologize if this has been covered before, but......
I need to get a bunch of slides transferred to digital format. These are my dad's old slides, and there are potentially hundreds. I need to either send them out or buy my own scanner. If I buy one, I need one that is good enough quality that I can make some decent prints if I need to. Anyone have any experience with scanners?

I've never done it personally, but there are all sorts of slide scanners available through places like Amazon. How much you spend might be determined by how many slides you need to scan.

Very nice on the night moto shot Kurt
We're getting hammered in SF with rain for weeks it seems. Waitin' for the Mavericks swell, but might get to indoor supercross this weekend. I'm going cold to a women's roller derby practice Sat., to see if there's anything worthwhile to shoot
Wonder if they'll give me a dressing room pass...

If they look anything like the majority (Certainly not all) of roller derby girls here in Chicago you may not want one............

Just a little announcement- As of February 1, I will actually have a photo studio here in Chicago. Its a 1600 sqft commercial space large enough to shoot anything I want, up to and including motorcycles. Besides my own gear, I'll also have available for my use an almost complete inventory of Nikon optics as well as a D3x whenever I see fit, thanks to a business partner. Once the website for the studio is live, I'll post here.
