RTE / Greasy Spoon Tour of Oklahoma?

(With thanks to Rabidsnipe post in the Eishcens thread)
For the past several years, some members of New Covenant Christian Church and their riding friends have put together a series of Saturday RTEs (departing from New Covenant at NW 122 and Rockwell, OKC) to various Oklahoma locations. We're a diverse group, some Harley's, some GoldWings, some ST's, some 4-wheelers (non-riding significant others - my wife
), etc. Ride with us, or join us, all are welcome!
Here's this year's dates, destinations, departure times:
April 14 Jakes Ribs - Chickasha 10:30
May 5 Antique Tractor Show - Pawnee 10:00
June 2 Meers Cafe & Mt. Scott 9:00
June 23-24 Talimena Drive to Mena 9:00
July 14 Eischens - Okarche 11:00
Aug 11 Squawk and Skoot - El Reno 11:00
Sep 15 Hideaway Pizza or Eskimo Joes
Stillwater 10:30
Oct 13 Cheese Festival - Watonga 10:30

I was totally about to start the same thread (not associated with NCCC). Thanks for beating me to it.
So are they going to mind if a bunch of STN folks come crash their party?

Nonsense
! Go ahead, the more destinations~variations we have the more we'll have to choose from, and the more dates to choose from, the easier to accommodate various rider's schedules.
Always looking for a place to RTE
!!
No problem with STN'ers
only requirement we have is you gotta like food and motorcycles.

Camping
man, I don't do camping anymore
I'm not sure how the ride to Mena will turn out. I'm afraid it's further~longer than most of the most of the NCCC riders are willing to do. But some of them expressed an interest in an overnight ride, so I added one to the schedule.
(My apologies, too. I didn't intend to usurp your plans. I just had my list ready, and you gave me the idea to post it here, as I was emailing it out to the NCCC riders.)

Talking about Talimena brings to mind how much the word "far" can change definitions from one person to the next. In the middle of summer (with the long days) you can get to the Talimena ride by early afternoon from OKC talking back roads. Granted that's probably leaving earlier that 9 but anyways. It's an easy ride out and back and there are lots of varying roads out that direction. You can find some pretty twisty stuff, or you can take it easy. Plus there's a pretty sweet state park in Arkansas that has a lodge and campground. I don't know what rates are (we camped) but I remember the all-you-can-eat buffet being pretty tasty.

We stopped in there the day after Christmas heading from OKC to Monahans, Texas. It is not the "best" BBQ, but good. Be prepared for MASS quantities of food, be prepared to take some with you.

Who leads these rides? Is there a route that's followed? Who prepares it? The only reason I ask is I've ridden that area a few times and wouldn't mind giving suggestions for good sporty roads.

Whoever knows the way leads!
I pick out a route via Streets & Trips, just for planning purposes. Nothing serious or concrete.
We could have a sporty group and a touring group. I think the camaraderie at the beginning of the ride and at the destination is almost as much fun as being on the road.

i tried out jake's rib saturday night. it's pretty good stuff, a worthy destination. i got the sliced beef dinner with curly fries (they give you about a pound of fries). after i saw the ribs on another table, i was wishing i had gotten them.
