Rt 114 < is it a decent road ? It starts off rt285 in Saguache and runs northish to RT 50 between Gunnison and Parlinwas looking to use this to make a loop

All of the roads in the Gunnison area are good.

E to Monarch Pass (50) - flat and straight for 30 miles, then twisty over Monarch. Ride it early in the morning. Police presence - moderate

W to Montrose (50) - curvy all the way more or less. Police presence - fairly heavy.

N to Crested Butte (135) - lots of traffic, twisty all the way, exit via dirt road (though certainly rideable) once you leave CB. Police presence - moderate.

S to Lake City (149) - little traffic, high speed, twisty in spots. Police presence - fairly heavy. Note that from Lake City to Creede is one of the great roads in Colorado.

S to Saquatch (114)- twisty for 1/2 the way. Police presence - moderately light.

E up Taylor Canyon (?) - very twisty, very narrow, no shoulder, moderate traffic, walkers and possibly horses on the road, dirt road exit over CottonWood pass (should be rideable). Police presence - light.

W to Hotchkiss (92) - the Black Canyon road, very twisty, some places where if you go off you are dead, one of the great roads in CO. Police presence - light.

If you are a dirt biker, bring both bikes on a trailer and experience the best Colorado has to offer on the dirt too.
