We are currently getting a Dragon Raid assembled for 2009. I have been in communication with Mac Benson at Triumph and he is excited about this and is offering Triumph’s support. The date and location are set. Instead of just one weekend which does not give you enough time to enjoy the area, we are starting it on Monday. It will be held at the Iron Horse Campground. I have stayed there many times and they are absolutely top notch. They have everything from tent camp sites to full cabins. We have blocked the whole place for us to make reservations until the end of January. After that, they will make it available to the public. Reserve early, to get what you want. You can call them at 828-479-3864 or through their website www.ironhorsenc.com I do have a thread started on this here: http://www.britrider.com/message/viewtopic.php?t=785

We are really trying to make a good event for everyone. And it will take everyone’s help. I am reaching out to all RAT Packs to help bring this together. It is still very early in the planning stage and every possibility is there. Please step up and help out. RAT is about us Triumph nuts that love to ride. Please do not hesitate to contact me about helping out. I need your help!!!

Fortunately this event is scheduled the week after British in the Blue Ridge. Hopefully you can add it to your summer events. I hope to see you there.

Thank You,
Rick Sine

Remember the Campground is near the end of this road....

Here is an email I receive from the KY RATS. It is to help explain Friday nights party:

Quote
Hello Fellow Triumph Riders,
The Joe's Cycle Shop Dragon Raid of 2009 orchestrated by Rick Sine will undoubtedly be the premier Triumph Event of the Year. Held at the Ironhorse Lodge and Campground outside Robbinsville, NC, anyone who is anyone in the World of Triumph will be there.
I, with several other Triumph faithful, mainly the KY RATS (Riders Against Terrorist Scumbags) are proud to assist Rick Sine by providing some festivities for Friday night of the Rally. Through several donations provided by the following:
Snidely Whiplash
Boris and Natasha
Hodie Snitch
W.W. Corrigan
Wile E. Coyote
Richard Blaine (of Rick's Americain Cafe)
James H. Doolittle
The June Taylor Dancers

We will be able to provide several doorprizes to be awarded at Midnight on Friday night to include: Some cool Triumph shirts and stuff, AND, a LARGE SUBSTANTIAL cash doorprize which will help some lucky soul defray his travel costs to the rally, AND:
Courtesy of the above donors and the KY RATS, there will be an open bar for those who have sworn and agreed to settle in for the evening consisting of Michelobe, Fosters, Bass Ale, Heineken, KY Bourbon, Tanqueray, Smirnoffs, KY apple/cinnamon moonshine, along with free burly tobacco products fresh from Fleming Co., KY for all those who still enjoy a good cigarette or a fine cigar. Political correctness hasn't quite taken over just yet!
Several hundred dollars worth of libation all for our Triumph friends.
Deputy Attorney General of the State Of TN, The Honourable Terry D. Tucker, has agreed to make a powerful speech guaranteed to make an impact on each and every attendee.
There will also be lots of old Rock 'N Roll and Contemporary Bluegrass sounds to delight all present. All free of charge.
Life is too short to spend it around people you don't like. So, let's party with our Britbike friends!!!! Our hats are off to Rick Sine for his hard work and commitment!

Marc Parnes is now a supporter. Marc Parnes offers motorcycle products. Mainly top quality wheel balancers. The will be a 50% off certificate for his products given away Saturday night. http://www.marcparnes.com/

There will be many more Saturday prizes.....

Is this just for Triumph riders or open to everyone.  From the way it reads it sounds like only Triumph

Actually it is open to anyone. Our group has ALWAYS had the opinion that if you are on 2 wheels, you are all right with us. Now, remember that if you are not on a Triumph and around them.... you might be tempted to trade your bike in on one...Just a warning.

Bigsmile  I saw an '09 Bonnie T100 this weekend.  Sweet........reminded me of my first bike, a 1970 Bonnie I bought new in Germany and shipped it back to the states.

Just another update...

Saturday night we will break out 2 half barrels booze. One of which will be of Arrogant Bastard Ale and the other is Stella Artois. This is made possible by Boston's Bistro in Dayton Ohio. There will also be awards and door prizes.. Reserve your rooms, tent, campsite whatever.... if you've got two wheels you are good with us!

Do I need to reserve a tent space or is there always room?

Well guys, It was a great time... The weather was great and the roads were awesome. Some of our antics can be seen here:
http://www.britrider.com/message/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=990

There was one bloke from Canada that rode his rocket there pulling a trailer:

Next year will be bigger and better. I HIGHLY recommend it...
