I'm getting my 1st oil change on my RSV and was looking for advise on synthetic or not. Please, this isn't another oil bashing thread. I'm just a huge fan of synthetic & was leaning in that direction. Any negative/positive feedback on this bike would be appreciated.

I'm also going to have the dealer bleed the rear brake. It's still an issue and if I had to put a numeric value on it, I would say its operating at about 40 to 50% of what I think it should be.

Anything else I should have them look at?

Thanks in advance.  Thumbsup

Synthetis is fine. As for the rear brake has it always been weak or something new? Can you compare it to another RSV?

Read the pertinent parts of this thread............the rear brake on my 2007 Tuono performed poorly until I followed KZMille's instructions..............no problems since.

just my opinion...not much difference between synthetic and a good quality dino oil like Castrol 30W/50 if you change it every 1500 miles  Smile

Maybe I'm incorrect in my thinking process but one of the advantages for me is stretching out the services because of the synthetic. I usually go 4,000 to 4,500 miles between oil changes. Using dino I religiously do changes every 3,000 miles. Unfortunately I live in a condo so servicing my bikes isn't an option so I'm reliant upon the dealer. This will change this summer though, my wife & I are building a log home on a local lake for a getaway place and I have a nice garage I working on now.

I'm researching air compressors, lifts, lighting, flooring, etc. I hope to be doing my own oil changes here soon...
