I just got off the phone with the hotel. Turns out I did make a reservation when I signed the contract/etc back in March...

There are LOTS of rooms still available. In fact, I'm a bit worried at the lack of reservations at this point. There are only 7 rooms booked (out of 30) reserved. Come on folks. We had poll after poll after poll and Lake Placid was the clear choice. Let's get some reservations happening.

If numbers are going to be way down from the last two years (50 - 60), then it would be nice to know that now while trying to plan a group dinner and T-shirt order. There are minimum numbers for that stuff and we would be way short of that given the few reservations so far. We could also release some rooms early (our deadline is Aug 11) if we don't need everything in the block.
you need on average at LEAST 25 for the shirts, some are more ,depending on who will do them for you

jimmystartup (Peter) in Seattle has done most of our National and WCRM shirts in the past. He does a great job, will do a smallish run and will ship them directly to the hotel or, if you're on the ball and have your stuff in early enough, to each individual before the meet-up.

Let me know if you want to go through him and I'll get him involved. Now, about the design....

I used him for last year's ESTN shirt and am planning on doing it for this ESTN (if we have enough orders). Very easy to work with and solves a lot of logistics hassles.

(snip)...There are LOTS of rooms still available. In fact, I'm a bit worried at the lack of...(snip)

I've mentioned it to my wife already who wasn't too keen on me riding so far (467 miles each way)...  My longest rider to date was been 73 miles round trip this past Sunday (yeah, I know...)  But we'll see.  She's doing the 3-Day Cancer Walk in Philly in October and this could be "my thing".

Of course, I need to sell this scooter and buy a bike so I can keep up with the rest of you.  Will someone buy this thing?

Would anyone be interested in the possibility of riding up together from the Lehigh Valley area?  I live between Reading and Allentown, but if I go I could also meet someone along the way.

Might need to jump to a Burgman, Silverwing or TMax but you don't need to get a bike.  I've been chased by a MP3/500 quite effectively!

Since my job blocks Photobucket lines I have to reserve my response until I see the pic of the chick.

I just spoke with my neighbor who is the Franklin County Tourism Director.  I told him about the event and tried hitting him up for some specials.  I asked him about a discount on the bobsled ride, etc.  He said that if he got enough inquiries from the group, and a definite number, he may work something out.  So send him a request at info@adirondacklakes.org.  His name is Neil.  I'm looking to share a room also.

Tail o' the Pup just down the road is a must do for any group of riders.  They usually have a small band, too.  All outside under the big top (Tents).

We drive (or I ride) past that almost every time we go to the 'dacks and have re-named it "Butt of the Mutt."

Not exactly haute cuisine, but a fun bit of roadside kitsch. Added attraction: follow the subtly marked driveway next to it and tour the outside of a real federal prison [g].
