Scott, as long as we have a gentleman's agreement to keep the lawsuit at $8.2 Million, we're all good. The hotel's account only has $8.23 Million in it, and we are trying desperately to avoid those pesky overdraft fees.

But seriously, I dont have any fears of some snooty NY lawyers, I just got transferred up here from my hometown in Connecticut, Im pretty sure we have the snootiest of the snooty lawyers, we can take it.

Ok in actual seriousness- we will have a vastly different reservation system set up next time, there is no reason the front desk cant book your group reservations, and we really dont want to force potential guests to play phone tag with management. I should have larger tasks to worry about.I greatly appreciate your patience DantesDame

Im glad that things went well on our end, look forward to another go around soon

Wow. Thanks for setting up an account and checking in with the group William. I was the one that set up the group reservation with Ron.

FWIW, one of the main reasons you guys rose to the top of the list was (aside from price), was the enthusiasm Ron had. He was always asking if/how he could help or provide some information on the area for me to relay to the folks here. It was nice to have someone really WANT our business, even though we're a small group in the big scheme of things.

I was very pleasantly surprised by the property. It was nicer than expected. I wish I had brought a bathing suit. The indoor pool/etc looked very nice.

Point for improvement: consider jazzing up the breakfast options a little. Something a little nicer than pre-packaged donuts. I've seen a "make your own waffle" station in several budget hotels recently.

I will certainly recommend the property to other groups that want to do a motorcycle tour of the area.  Thumbsup

Scott handed a seat again? rofl

William,

My reservation was done online and noted that I was with the STN group. The rate was changed to the group rate from my AAA rate upon my check in that was only a matter of minutes. The room was comfortable and the coffee good. Not much of a donut guy

That's nice, but can it be made into jerky?

Point for improvement: consider jazzing up the breakfast options a little. Something a little nicer than pre-packaged donuts. I've seen a "make your own waffle" station in several budget hotels recently.

That would be my only "complaint" as well... The English muffins toasted nicely, but the cellophane-wrapped donuts were pretty flavorless and not worth the calories.  If a waffle station isn't a possibility, I have seen individually wrapped waffles in the grocery stores (Thomas' is the brand as I recall).

Two things in my mind that would *REALLY* help guests getting breakfast together:

1) Consider adding a second trash can in the lobby for guests.  The only trash can I saw was the cutout in the counter by the English muffins.  If someone is slicing and toasting a muffin, they essentially block the trash can for everyone else, particularly since it's human nature to stand there while the toaster is doing its thing.

2) Consider adding a standing-height counter along the wall, opposite the breakfast station.  Your breakfast station can only really handle two people at once.  It would help the flow of getting people in and out if there was somewhere else that people could doctor their coffee or spread butter and jelly on their muffins.  This counter could also hold food and beverages while people stand to eat if the table is already in use by others.

William- You took my reservation.  A few complained they were having trouble getting a room but our transaction took 3 minutes.  Will you be adding a security force to your staff?  Perhaps a dozen marked police cars and a retired stealth bomber to patrol your lot?  See, my bike was wrapped in toilet paper and I feel your hotel did nothing to protect my faithful steed from this assault.  I am sueing you for 8.2 million dollars in damages.  You will hear from my team of snobby NY lawyers.

Seriously, I hate you.

No seriously, good marketing move on your part checking in here.  I heard no complaints from anyone regarding your hotel and the next time i'm in Lake Placid will stay with you again. Thumbsup

Actually, you should thank hotel security that nothing worse happened to your bike.

What grit sandpaper did you say works best?  I'm still laughing about that - not the subject itself - it was your presentation.

Seriously, this was a great place to stay, conveniently located, not a bad walk into town, even better in a pickup.
