I may have some further edits for you.  Some other road options (local knowledge) and I need to check to see if one of those roads is paved or not.  Let me get back to you tonight.

I'm probably not gonna make this trip.  Money is tight this month, and I'm already committed to a trip this weekend (the Region 6 Meet-and-Eat) and a Maximum-Suzuki.com ride in New England the end of May.  I'll post up when I'm coming up that way later, for the locals that know me.

Sorry to hear that Jeff...maybe another time this summer.

I made a couple of minor changes in the section of 112 after you turn off from 116 in Ashfield.  (Sears Road is dirt)  I also gave you a short cut over some more scenic roads with less traffic where 112 snakes around through Worthington.

Google Maps

Does anyone have GPS?  I could email you the file so no wrong turns.  Also, watch for sand on some of the secondary roads.

Hulked, I'm thinking the area through Athol and Orange is stop and go IIRC?

Yes, good point.  I didn't check that section initially.  I made another edit.  Just stay on Route 2 to Route 63, otherwise you are riding through two downtowns.

Mmm, tried to fix it again, but couldn't   Headscratch  The change I made was to just stay on Route 2 west after you meet up in Orange and take that to the junction of 63 in Miller's Falls (rather than ride 2A through Athol and Orange).

Keith I know this is your backyard and you are probably aware of it -but for the other guys coming in from NH there was radar on Rt 116 last weekend - came around a right hander and he was sitting there. Slammed on the binders but luckily he had someone else pulled over..IIRC it was between Conway and Ashfield.
I have also seen them on Rt 112 in previous years.

So sounds like there may be to big a group for some?

Should I plan to ride over with just one or two others from my area.

Will the plan be to head back the same route?  If so is anyone interested in heading back via a VT route.

I'm just asking as I have not ridden with this group before and do not want to...........

That's not a big deal.  Most of us rather run with a small group of folks we know, and the large gatherings generally break into those small cliques once everyone hits the road.  It's safer, and it's easier to pass slower vehicles when you run with a small, familiar group.  Nobody wants to ride with 30-40 other bikes in a parade formation - that's for Harleys!

Another possibility for a small group: only 15 extra miles and adds 10-15 minutes Mohawk Trail bypass

There will be plenty of time to set up smaller groups and get sorted out. As for the way home we have ridden 3 differnt routes so that is open also. Last two years we did go up in to VT and then to NH. Last year it was just Hulked up, Dave and me.  Keith turned off to head to his house and Dave and I went up Hogs Back on Rt 9.

I am not sure yet what my return plan is as of now.  So if you are in my group headed to great barrington, I can't make any promises for the return trip, I suggest either bringing a map, or jump in with another group for your ride home.

Looks like a great route headed west.  Was just wondering about the return, that's all....I'm good with any route or riding solo back, it wouldn't be the first time.   Smile

Copy that.  Sent you one also.

Anyone else interested in meeting in near Henniker on way to Rindge?  Plenty of room @ our farm (for cage & trailer) or in town say the junction of 114 & 202 - 9 Mobil station.
