STN National rotation question
«
on:
March 28, 2009, 03:04:23 PM »
Based on what I found here (
http://www.sport-touring.net/forums/index.php/topic,8751.0.html
), the rotation of the national seems to be:
Custer, SD
Ozarks, AR
Colorado
Appalachians (likely WV)
Is this order correct? If so, the ST.N National will be in my back yard next year.

I'm cross-posting this so anyone who is curious will know the details....
I won't be able to make it to the ST.N national, so if I said otherwise earlier, it's now official.
REASON:
A co-worker is taking a vacation that really mucks up my timing. I had planned a trip to Oregon that I really want to do. My plan was to hit ST.N in CO and then go off to do Oregon. That would have given me all the time I need for the trip without worrying about keeping to any more fixed schedule dates. If I needed a extra day or two on the trip, no sweat. Having to hit ST.N national
at the end
of the trip puts me under pressure to keep to a fixed schedule (exhausting, IMHO) or taking off early enough that I need not worry about not needing extra days during the trip. The latter option could force me to take almost a whole third week away from the office where doing the ST.N national first would have kept it at about my norm of 2 weeks.
I also have at least 1 if not 2 rallies in WV at the end of May. I would have as little as 1 week to "recoup" from these and prepare for the big trip to Oregon, and that's cutting it pretty tight. Normally, I would have had an easy 3 weeks to do this based on my original plan.
I have also learned that next year's ST.N rally SHOULD be somewhere in the Appalachians...my back yard
. So, I see no problem making it next year since it will be fairly local and easy to plan around.
Considering these factors, it would just be simpler to bail on this year and look forward to the ST.N national next year.
For those of you who helped me work out different ideas on what do to about this, I thank you. I can safely say that my 2010 trip will likely focus on Colorado and the Ozarks.

Anyone who rode a motorcycle along that road would need shooting
Actually if I was made to ride that route then I would probably ask for the gun myself.
My route might be a bit more exciting but I would have to get my feet wet
