I will be keeping my eye on Motus, a new FJR in Canada Is probably close to 20 gs with tax, hmmm now that I say Canada I suspect we wont be able to import MOTUS .... back to the FJR

But if you can, there's some NAFTA breaks to be had.

And yeah, screw the custom panniers.  I'm glad they went with Givi "off the shelf".   For one thing, it means replacement won't be an arm and a leg, and its a proven design.   Besides that, as mentioned, Givi makes the panniers for just about everyone.  About the only company that doesn't source Givi for OEM bags these days is BMW, and the now-defunct Buell that used H-B.

Those Aprilia panniers somebody was raving about earlier?  Not bad, but they're also used on the Caponord, the Futura, the Norge and the Breva, so they're not a "custom design", and they're (...wait for it...) made by Givi.

They’re still negotiating with some suppliers so they haven’t nailed down price just yet and that will be influenced by orders. For those folks able to buy a high end BMW touring machine or the like, the Motus should be very affordable, and a lot more exclusive.

A premium package K1300 runs $22,595.  The Ducati Multistrada touring runs $19,995.

I'd say that if Motus can get their introductory pricing in the mid to high $20's they will be an immediate contender.  Provided the bike performs well of course.

Lemme make sure I'm framing the argument right:

Premise:
An American company has designed and built, from the ground up, an innovative new machine that should be a direct hit with a site called Sport-Touring.net.  It features a badass engine with enough torque to wrinkle God's underwear, real range, real handling, and preliminary press suggests some of us will probably be able to own one.  The designers have posted on this site and specifically asked for feedback and discussed the development of their bike.  We should all be going completely apeshit to see this bike exist.

Result:
But, but, but....where's my stuff gonna go?  I don't wanna put it in their stuffholder!

I wonder what kinda MPG it'll get?   Razz

Yep, that's right, MPG. If gas gets around $5.00 a gallon it could would be something to consider....
My C14 gulps gas, (the way I ride) so my next bike purchase MPG will be considered.

My last two bikes, MPG was a big consideration (Sportster 883 and KLR650), but at the end of the day, they didn't burn that much less gas than a powerful bike unless I was doing highway miles and taking it easy.   Just sayin...

40-50 MPG has always been the norm in my world, from 400cc to 1200cc, 1974 to 2008 model years - that spans 14 different motorcycles.  The only bike I've owned that got consistently less than that was my Guzzi V11 Sport.

Anyway, not to belittle your argument at all, but as long as it can do a solid 40-50 without riding like my wife wants me to, it's not even a thought for me.

Now I'm really curious as to where the showrooms will be...

I guess I have no problems with the Givi bags, but my one big concern with this new bike, and what bothers me that they couldn't seem to engineer:

A kick stand.

Really, how much of a pain in the ass is it to have to carry a track stand around everywhere you go?  If they can't get this one minor thing right it throws the whole project into doubt.

There is a center stand in the works....I mentioned that a lack of centerstand would be a major flaw, Brian said It would have one in production

Simply amazing Inlove!!!.....Thats an American bike I would buy Bigok....I wish them luck Thumbsup...I agree with some as to the power output. It should be way higher one would think Headscratch. My touring 12R would KILL it in all areas of performance...I however will be disappointed if it is another 20k+ untouchable machine (except for the rich)....The bags are perfect, Givi makes good stuff and is OEM on a bunch of bikes (OMG the fucking whining Headscratch)...Great to see an American offering that is not a loud overpriced under performing terd.....well waiting on the overpriced thing..lOL..Being the greedy ole USA , it probably will be...
