50k Mile service.  Wasn't sure what the dealer did to it when the PO traded it in so I decided now was a good time to do it.  Didn't get the TBs synced or the spark plugs in.  I'm waiting on my carbtune and spark plugs to come in so I can knock that out.  Changed the coolant to "Engine Ice" while I was in there.

Pulled 500 mile maintenance: check tires, clean and lube chain, check battery, check brake fluid, check oil, turn signals and controls.

Rained 2 1/2 inches so no ride.

keep the shiny side up,

3 days off work so Ya think I would have gone for a ride or maybe done something

Nope, NADA not a darn thing. Never even looked at any of them  Thumbsdown

On the bright side I spent a day riding bicycles with my oldest, one day at the beach in the waves and one day sleeping

Come to think of it maybe I had a good 3 days off Bigok

Since buying my 2004 FZS1000, I've actually done very little to it. Unlike my BMW R1200GS which was a farkle magnet, this bike (at the moment) doesn't seem to be crying out for much. The list so far is :

Front fender extender
GSG crash bungs
Stebel Magnum horn
oe Yamaha rear rack

On Saturday, I had the tyres changed. It still had the oe Metzeler MZ4 hoops on (not a nice tyre) and I had them replaced with some Bridgestone 021's. I did consider the latest 023's, but as my tyre fitter had the 021's on offer, that's what I went for. The difference is remarkable to say the least. I've much more confidence and the bike just feels sooooo much better.

Took the 883 out for the first legit ride - had tons of fun, saw lots of cool stuff.

Rear suspension blows (expected on a sportster), as does the seat (also expected).  It was always pretty good around town, but after half an hour on the highway it's got this stupid pressure on the tailbone.

Anyway, took a bread knife and a staple gun to 'er and trimmed it down some, as the last thing I want to do is spend more money these days.

Rear shocks are 13" eye to eye, which is taller than stock methinks, but it's still waaaayyyyyy too stiff.  Again, don't wanna blow ANY money... damn I could go for some Ohlins though.

ALSO - STILL pissed this thread got moved out of "General Discussion."
