Clap

Congrats on the new Wing!

Thanks.  The old one sure didn't go willingly - the ignition pulse generator went bad on me the same morning I'd planned to ride it up to the dealership; replacing it involved just a wee bit of wrenching and cursing.

Absolutely.  Best thing I've done to this bike.  Took care of the front end diving and feels a LOT better in the twisties (when I can find them).  But I've got the rear setup too stiff right now.  I'm still working on tuning it.

Just ran an errand for my wife -- turned it into a test run for all the new and/or recently added stuff.  Used the GPS even though I knew exactly where I was going, everything fine on that front.  New mesh jacket and leather guantlets are great.  New grips feel nice, Crampbuster feels like it's always been there, and my butt was comfy with the Beadrider Ultimate.

Oh, and I found out what that reserve tank was all about!. http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Non-Smiling/redface11.gif   http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Non-Smiling/redface11.gif  http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Non-Smiling/redface11.gif  The last of the gas that the bike came with - my first fill-up.

Word to the wise: Never trust that the trip odometer on a used bike hasn't been reset since it's last fill-up (yes, I did check open the tank and peer in a few times since I've had it). http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Doh!/doh1.gif

The scooter had a regular fuel gauge and a warning light.

So, I left off w/ the "ready to install" the dash mounted GPS cradle.

It arrived today and I was able to finish the job.

First was the sub dash frame bracket.

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c132/doog71/KTM%20Adventure/DSCN1883.jpg

Next was the dash side part of the bracket.

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c132/doog71/KTM%20Adventure/DSCN1884.jpg

Then you mount the Zumo cradle to the new KTM / Touratech cradle and adjust where you want it before placing the windscreen back on the bike.

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c132/doog71/KTM%20Adventure/DSCN1887.jpg

Next you install the head light and side fairings.

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c132/doog71/KTM%20Adventure/DSCN1888.jpg

And finally, you give it a test ride.

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c132/doog71/KTM%20Adventure/DSCN1890.jpg

This is one strong mounting point for the GPS.  I can feel pretty confident of going over some rough roads and not being concerned about this coming off.

Oh, I also installed these cool frame protectors which use expandable rubber mounts that go inside the rear swing arm pivot.  It will be interesting to see how well these hold up.

After running around doing errands on the bike, I stopped at the local "bikini" bar (no titties with alcohol here), as they were having a bikini car wash. Hadn't been there in a few years, so I thought I'd check it out.

Girls looked like your typical H-D bimbo passenger on the way to Sturgis. Way skanky. Speed tweekers with tats all over. Got the bike washed, but they did a lousy job, washing the wheels and then going over the fairings, spreading gunk all over. They must have noticed though, as they attempted to clean it up again. Had to ask them to give it another rinse, as soap was evident in several places.

Dropped a few ones in the tip jar and took off. Very disappointed with the whole experience, wash and girls. Only one girl was what I'd call attractive, and she wasn't even in a bikini. One girl said she rides a GSX-R750, but I guess she must have caged it to work, as I didn't see it.

So, that's what I did to the bike today. At least now I know why it's so dark inside the place, having had to go inside to get change for a twenty.

You forgot to post the pics of your bikini car wash. Wink Bigsmile

I took my bike to the grocery store for steaks and lucky charms.  Re-adjusted the front suspension again.     Got my GPS programmed for big day of riding tomorrow at the Carlisle ST rally.  Should be awesome.

There should be a rule that one can't metion getting the bike washed at a bikini wash w/o posting pictures.   Lol
