Brand new Dunlop Roadsmarts and Mobil 1 oil change on my 3800 mile ZX14.
While it was apart, I cleaned every nut and bolt in the process. Total of 4 hours on Saturday.
New Givi wing rack and ZG ST shield for my VFR the previous week.

Gave the Harley a wipe or two and rode it out to a biker spot in San Pedro. (yesterday)

Last Friday's 960 mile ride out and back to the Quad Cities finished off the rear tire, so it got changed today after work. Just in time for this weekend's ride to the Finger Lakes in NY and back. I'm working on being a mileage ho this year.
Oh, and checked the battery tender on the truck. It's been sitting for almost three solid weeks now.

Today was a milestone! I installed my first set of street tires. A Harbor Freight stand and a Nomar tire bar. It took about an hour for each tire, so the next set will be about half that. Using NoMar tool made the process work.
All I did to the HF stand was zip tie pieces of garden hose on the part that holds the wheel and things worked out well. I do have to balance them still, but that will be easy when that tool shows up.

YOU LUCKY BASSARD!! i wish.
but i did get new roadsmarts put on the rims for me last weekend and i finagled some time to put them back on the bike. now i have a bike sitting in the garage with BRAND NEW tires waiting for a chance to go riding. that's a new one on me. i usually take the bike right afterwards, but family issues (for some reason) takes precedence. so i am sooooooo crossing my fingers that the stars will align, the in-laws won't have something come up, the baby will not have issues nor the newly preggo mama, and i can get a chance to go for a nice 50mile or longer ride. wish me luck!!
considering i haven't had a decent (and by decent, i mean longer than riding to town and back - 20 miles) ride since last summer.......this blows.

When I went out to the mailbox, Monday evening, there was the Marc Parnes balancer, so yesterday morning I finshed the tire change and now its ready to go. Three more tire changes and I will break even.

Adjusted chain slack on the ST this morning. Was at spec when I left the Chicago area May 2, was OK in Las Cruces NM, was getting a bit floppy in Estes Park CO and was just too loose when I got to Lincoln NE yesterday. Holed up here so I wouldn't have to ride through storms predicted for Iowa and Illinois today.
O'Reilly's rented a torque wrench to me for.....nothing! The $89.95 credit card deposit was returned to me when I brought the wrench back. Had parked the bike off in a corner of their lot, and had the required 30mm socket with me, so I "rented" the wrench, made my wheel adjustment to tension the chain, torqued the axle nut to 83Nm, then returned the tool. After, I found a car wash and hosed most of the grit off. Just a lick and a promise really, she'll get a real bath when we get home.

Today I put 150 miles on it testing the fork I rebuilt yesterday.
Since my bike is so old, I had to get a replacement fork on Ebay. Found a nice one from an 86, so I got it. Cost less than forks by frank or replacement tubes and I got a whole fork, not jst the tubes.
Replaced the seals with fresh, installed Race Tech springs and a Race Tech cartridge emulator kit. What a difference!
My bike is so much more stable it's unbelievable. I can take winding roads at or above posted speed, crosswinds are so much less interesting, etc.
I just did the RaceTech Cart Emulators on the Trophy and got to use em on the Region2 trip. It was incredible.

When you open the RT box, there's not much in it for so much $$, but once you use them they prove their worth.
