I found out mine has two petcocks, one for each tank. Now I'll be able to double my distance between fillups!

Lookin' good, MK96xj!
---------
I just installed the engine guards on the Diversion... Apparently, Yamaha thinks that everyone's fingers are about two inches longer and have a fourth knuckle
That must have been their thinking because of how they wanted me to get to the retaining nut through the maze of headers.. Probably would have been a snap if I had taken the oil filter off, but I know they changed the oil right before I bought it.
I ended up bending a length of aluminum with the nut taped to the end of it and holding it in place till the bolt caught it coming from the other side.
What should have taken 10 minutes took an hour.
At least they're on now...

Took the new luggage for a test ride - threw a kid on the back for good measure. Happy to report both performed well!
...but seriously... 215 miles, a tank and a half of fuel, over 7 hours without a care in the world and we had a great ride, great weather, great company, found a new spectacular road in SEPA.... twisties, technical, sweepers, brand new clean asphalt - it had it all - riding nirvana. If the weather holds, I'm hitting it again tomorrow.
Here's the kid communing with nature at the Ashland Nature Center about a half hour before we headed home. Ain't she cute?

Passed the 13k mile mark on mine today! I'm averaging 74 miles per day since I bought it back in February....and I don't even use it for work commuting!

I washed the WR250X for the SECOND time this year. It was too muddy to commute on after last weeks 'Motarding in the Kootenays' trip.
I also put on the new license plate since the last one seems to have somehow 'vanished' along the trail.

Within the last couple weeks I've replaced the dragging clutch on my FZ1 and fashioned a replacement oil gallery plug for the one that popped out of the main axle shaft thus causing the dragging clutch; replaced the front wheel bearings on my GL1800; installed a new Hagon rear shock and a set of Ricor Intiminators in the front forks of my WeeStrom, fabricated and installed a radiator & oil cooler guard, and replaced the Tourances with TKC's in preparation for my TransLab trip later this month.

Eh? I missed something here... by bits and pieces, I mean an air filter, oil filter, spark plugs, etc... and it really does have 36K kilometers on it. It's new to me, not factory new.

I thought you were talking about the 2010 VFR
Although if anone is thinking about getting the "new VFR" (if it ever happens) they might wanna start saving $ for scheduled maintenance.

What did you do to your bike today
Last night after Ken's NJ/DE/PA ride, I fixed my luggage rack mount. I'm doing up a new full givi-mounting kit for it since I'm setting up for occasional 2-up use. I didn't thread-lock it when I bolted things up, and they came loose on yesterday's ride. I replaced the loose hardware with nylon-bushed nuts and stainless bolts. Should be golden now.
Today, I didn't do nuffin' to my bike. With temp and humidity well north of 90, fuggggg that, I say. The bike will sit in the garage for the remainder of the day.

Farkles are starting to arrive...
Just put on the Crampbuster and the Ultimate Beadrider. Too hot to ride without a mesh jacket now (96F!), so you guys will have to wait a little for a ride report.
The Ultimate Beadrider actually raises the seat height half an inch, which is a good thing since the Diversion is pretty low.
The Nuvi 780 arrived Friday and the RAM mount for it should be here tomorrow. I bought goodies to hardwire a weatherproof power adapter today at Walmart.
I know that some of you guys were against me getting a GPS (since I have only been riding for 900 miles so far), so I specifically got one with an audio output (for headphones for now) and a Bluetooth adapter (for a Scala Rider or Chatterbox later on). Figure I won't have to look at it too much. Just got a non-waterproof one 'cause I'm cheap like that.
