What did you do to your bike today

Got to try out the PR2s in the rain on the way home from work.

It was a bummer getting caught behind another putting cage in the rain. But the tires worked nice. It was pouring pretty good.

Just soften the foam with cuts and removal. I figured if it compresses to much (and I can feel the pan after an hour or two) I can take it back apart and fill the void with soft memory type foam or something. I didn't have to do this on the SV but then again the wife is small so I doubt she has an issue with the lack of foam.

I stopped at a farmer's market, bought a bunch of fresh produce, and overloaded the topcase.  Made it home safely, but I took it easy in the curves.  Mmmmm....fresh corn on the cob.....mmmmmmmm........

Rode my Sprint out to PBIR (old Moroso) and watched the CCS races.

Got home, came flying back into the garage, jumped of the Sprint and ran into the house before my Speed Triple could bite me for leaving it at home.

Pulled the tank on the Tiger to install a new air filter (K&N), installed heated grips (Triumph OEM) and flushed out the original coolant (looks like sludge) which was replaced with Honda coolant (love that stuff!).  Oh, rode it some, too.

I drove 300 miles to pick up the parts needed to fix Boomstick last night. WOOOOHOO!!! Happy day for me!

Too bad it will take me most of the winter to get it done, with the time limits from work and the other things I want to do while its apart.

Moved the Bandit to the back of the garage, pulled the FJ out, put new tires on it and gave it a good bath.  Ready for a weekend away!!!

On Monday a friend came by on one of my old bikes (I sold it to him several years ago). I was laying around resting from a hectic day at work when the sound of a bike filed the air. Not any bike but a three cylinder 2 stroke kawasaki with chambers Yep my old S3 400  It has the most seductive sound of any bike I have ever herd. Well we talked and it turns out he had been paying the registration every year but never did anything with the bike. He just got the current sticker in the mail and went to put the sticker on. Something came over him and he spent the last 4 days getting it back in running order (well almost)  I got a chance to ride the little beast Dang I need to get my triple going again.

Well, today I stopped at the hardware store bought some hymen joints and a few other nuts and bolts. When I got home I remade the shift linkage, was way too sloppy but not anymore. Then I put the charger on the battery, took some petrol from the GS and put it in the S2. Filled up the tires and gave him a kick over.RInG RinG RING RING Rack rack RING RING RING Soon the garage and driveway were filled with the glorious blue/purple smoke of 2 stroke life. I had rebuilt the carbs, replaced the points and plugs about a year and a half ago but never put fuel in it or fired it up.   After about 30 sec the bike was purring like,,,, well ..a 2 stroke with chambers . Took it around the block DANG I LOVE THAT BIKE but if I were to ride it much I would surely lose my license, to much of an attention getter.

Thats what I did today, I brought back to life a garage relic from days gone by

firing up for my commute this AM, hit the switch for my auxiliary headlights, and.....nothing. dead.
pulled the seat to look at the wiring, heavy duty fuse holder between battery and relay is SMOKED. as in
melted and burned. bummer. FFFFFFFF***ck.

off to the auto parts store to get a new fuse holder, and I'll be in the garage tonight
replacing that. If it smokes out again I'll have to pull all the wiring for the lights and
re-do them. If i'm doing all that I'm thinkin' it might be time to put in an accy fuse block and maybe
a set of Hella FF50's.

I miss those running lights, especially at night.

The Joe Rocket jacket I used to wear when I had the scooter was primarily red with black trim.  My new-to-me Yamaha motorcycle is green...  I didn't want to look like Christmas rollin' down the road so I ordered a new jacket.  And the mesh jacket is for those 90 degree plus days, some of you might have seen me wear it in Carlisle.
