I'm getting ready to embark on a 4K mile round trip tour from Texas to PA, then to CT back to Texas. I'm trying to decide which bike to take. Both have their merits for a trip like this. The '07 Buell Ulysses, or the '09 BMW RT?

Thoughts?

Unless I thought I was going to spend a lot of time on dirt roads, I'd take the beemer.

The RT is made for this type of trip.  But I think the ULY would be more fun.  And it would definitely make it.  Previous comment=old history.  Time has moved on (as a Uly owner, I'm sure you already know).
Hmmm.  How about trailering the Uly behind the RT?

I like your analysis, but the BMW's no slouch in the twisties.  Especially the 1200cc version; it's lighter and more powerful than previous models.

I think I'd take the BMW...

Depends what you are going to do.  If you want to have fun take the Uly if you want to be bored take the BMW.  Both will get you there but only one will make you smile along the way.

I would bet not many who said BMW have ever been on a Uly.  Myself I have owned both and still have a Uly.  Guess that about says it all.

Regarding the last two posts, I feel making it all 4k miles with out indecent would be less interesting, so yes I agree with both of you.  Lol

I opted to take the BMW RT, but it was a very last minute decision.
