Just curious to see what the patterns are.  Smile Not just between solid colors...but between patterned/designed helmets and solid-color helmets.

Looks like solids are running more than 2 to 1 over patterns/designs. (Seems like I see more patterns that solids.) And black is the favorite solid so far...

I have a Mladdin replica AGV.  Only cause AGV was selling them out at an amazing price, like 75 bucks for an XVent.  I bought a Rossi replica at the same time for 50 bucks.  Shoulda bought a whole bunch.
Oh, and I also have a solid silver AGV modular.  Sorta cancels out my vote in the poll.

I'm more interested in how a helmet fits than what it looks like.
I had my heart set on this beautiful white Shark helmet with black and silver graphics and a thin red line, it was lightweight, fit well and reasonably priced.  I actually bought it and took it home, at the shop's suggestion,  before returning it later.  Problem was I couldn't figure out a way to install my Auto-Com gear inside it.  So I bought a Shoei instead.  I got plain silver because 1) it goes with a varieity of bike and jacket combinations, 2) it has good visibility, and 3) The helmets with graphics cost an extra $150 and the only designs they had in stock looked like one of the tatoos on the back of a babe at the Meet-n-Eat swingers party

I dunno. I think most helmet graphics look like a colorblind "artist" with Tourette's Syndrome and an X-Acto knife went off on a stencil.  Rolleyes But that's just me—clearly many people like them!

I have two Shoei helmets, both black and silver patterned.  One is smaller, and I wear it when I've gotten a haircut recently.  When the knotty mess grows out a little more, I switch to the larger one.

I chose 'red' because that's the predominant colour; there are some black and white pinstripe graphics but from two car-lengths away it's just a bright red blob (with SOLAS tape added).

Roger, you helmet whore. Lol I thought you loved the Shark...

Yes, well, ahem.... Embarassment I did love the Shark, great lid.  I just never got it working well with my glasses.  Sold it and picked up a solid silver Shoei TZ-R that I wore for a couple of months last fall.  Decided I needed more color in my life and got a decent deal on the above TZ-R, sold the silver TZ-R.  So the blue helmet is actually the second one I've had since the Shark.

Maybe I am a helmet whore. Cool Lol

In all honesty, I choose a helmet based on price and fit, and perhaps weight.  Graphics/color is secondary.

Yes, I know, so typical. But I bought a white HJC symax to go with my white 93 VFR. Besides, cagers think I'm a cop. So, some good from it all. Also, it get a little hot in Texas, so the white keeps my brain from frying, some.

Now THAT'S a cool pattern!  Thumbsup Why don't more helmets have interesting designs like this, instead of Hot-Rod Wannabe flame/tattoo designs?

I just ordered my first flip-up, a Shoei Multitec. (Woohoo!) Crystal White (decided I wanted a bit more visibility than my "blends-in-with-the-road" gray helmet).

I agree. I only have helmets with graphics on them because they were on sale. You can't really beat getting a $300 helmet fror $79 just because they have last year's graphics on them.

I have a black Shoei RF-1000.  It was my first helmet, bought right after I took the MSF course back in '03.  I chose black because I figured no matter what bike I have in the future, black will go with it.  Thumbsup

I must admit, that hi-viz yellow helmet in the 3rd post is pretty cool looking.

That's why usually go with white, I have one yellow and one red bike, and who know's what color the next one will be. Plus I tend to drop a new helmet off the seat or bars almost immediately upon purchase, so a super fancy/pricey design is out of my league.

If I ever get a custom one I'd like to make the California state flag... red stripe around the base of a white helmet. The hard part is the bear and maybe the "California Republic" text.  If I found a good decal I could do it myself with my Arai. Thumbsup

I like the burst design too, even with the scorpion.  I generally like graphics on helmets but wanted to avoid dragons, skulls and flames and that eliminates a lot of the designs.  I was quite happy with the stripes on my new Shoei.

Yeah, I really like this one.  My Strom is red, and I have strips of red 3M reflective tape on the handguards and on the luggage cases in a diagonal "hazard" pattern.

I'd consider it, but I'd be afraid of it being a step down from my Shoei RF-1000.

Interesting poll results!

• Still running 2 to 1 - solid colors over patterns and designs.
• Black is still king of the solids!
• Silver caught up to and passed white for 3rd place! (But white's hanging close behind...with yellow still in the running!)

This would have been a very difficult question for me if it weren't for the last (generic) option.

I like to wear a helmet that matches my bike......The problem is I have several different color bikes.

So I have a differen helmet for each.

But the're all patterned graphic design types.  Embarassment

Matte black Shoei RF1000, for that blends-into-the-night-and-gets-plastered-to-the-pavement-by-an-SUV look.

(It's true.  You'd think I'd know better.)

Last helmet was a Shoei TZ-R Lance in black and white.

Horrid retina-burning Neon-Piss Yellow/Green
Gets the cagers attn. anyway and matches my jacket...
Great helmet BTW, very light and snug/comfy....

Grant just got a new helmet and I wanted him to get this color as white wasn't available. He wanted black. We compromised on silver (matches the Guzzi).

I used to have a silver helmet and thrashed it up on the track during a highside.  When I rode with Velofish, he wore a yellow helmet.  Because he always rode his Guzzi, he was always behind me (  Lol ).  The thing that caught my eye is the fact I would spot his yellow helmet over his headlight.  So, after I thrashed my silver one on the track, I acquired a yellow helmet for touring, a design replica for track days, and I later picked up a solid white for dual sport rides.  Mostly, I pick my helmets for visibility.

I have a multi colored blue black gray and white AFX 90. I also picked the color to match my bike. I like the different shape than the regular rounded helmet, but its drawback is its heavy. It also seems like it catches the wind easier.

At the present time I use a KBC ForceRR in the Matt Shadow graphic. Black, gold, silver.  Kbc fits my head better than other helmets without spending $400 and up.  I scored this one new, on Ebay for $100.  I liked the graphics, love the fit, fair amount of airflow and the noise level is as good as most other brands I have tried. I did buy a solid silver flip front KBC.  I like everything but the wind noise.

Have 4 helmets right now 1 fits right.

1 Black HJC IS-MAX but I put like a checker theme. Think black helmet with black checkers like the checkered flag (reflective white), worn twice doesn't fit right. Matches my bike pattern.

1 Shark Duhamel black with orange dragon size large doesn't fit right, worn twice.

1 HJC AC-12 Yikes III blue sized XL. Too long but fit when new worn 1 season in 2006 and then was too big and long when it broke in.

My favorite is my Shoei X-11 Bostrum. Silver and black with flames on side and british insignia on front. Used white reflective tap over all the Shoei insignias.

I had to say white because I have 3 white helmets, 1 yellow, 1 gray, 1 red graphics and 1 blue graphics. And I wear them all, but not at the same time.
