Have a Escort 8500. Whats a better earpiece than stock which is too short and uncomfortable.

You can buy or make a speaker(s) that can be installed in your
 helmet and plug into your Escort.  Aerostich has speakers you can buy and Radio Shack sells the stuff to make one.
Can you solder? Do you have the tools to do it?

Why not put in helmet speakers or use earbuds, and a Mixit amp? You can plug the escort into the priority jack and it will override your music if there's an alert. It might be more than you want, but its something to think about.
