Norge Differences?
«

I'm thinking about getting a Norge. My local dealer has an '07 Demo and a new '08. Are there any differences between any of the Norge models from introduction to '09?

They made a change with how you check/top off the oil. The experts will soon chime in.

The only real changes that have been made besides color options are: (1) The early Norges you either had to remove the fairing lowers to check your oil or purchase an aftermarket product to check it ( I have a Teo Lamers dipstick, very effective) In 08 they put a hole in the side of the fairing to address the issue.
(2) The early rear shocks were very soft and they were upgraded in late 07. (3) The centerstand tends to scrape easily and they supposedly trimed down the rubber bumper on them in 08 but I can't tell the difference looking at them. That's it. I bought my brand new 07 Norge in March of 08. I saved over $2,000 and from what I can tell, you would probably save even more then that now, so I'd go with the 07 even if you have to upgrade the shock. I've been riding for 30 years and the Norge has so far proven to be the most enjoyable
bike I've ever ridden. Have you taken a test ride yet? If not get out and let us know what you think.

What radlefty said. I believe the springs were updated around May of 07 which is when mine was made and has the beefier spring. Not hard to change out and if you can save some money, I agree, the 07 is just as good as the 08. I'm a first time Guzzi owner coming from mostly BMWs and Japanese machines and find I love the character and feel of this bike.

Thanks. If I had to decide today between the 8v Sport & bags or the Norge with 8v it would be tough.
If I had a good dealer just down the road with both models on the floor it might be easier.

The news from the dealers on the wildgoose site, is that there are so many leftover 07 and 08 Norges that Piaggio is not going to be sending any 2010 model Norges to the States.
