We are looking at Camping at Seneca Shadows Friday July 31 - August 2.

See pages 2-5 of this thread for more details and please chime in.

Thanks!

Here's the site to the campground.  I have lot 41 reserved and it accommodates 2 tents (me and Garry have that one).  Buff has lot 42 reserved and can split the costs w/ someone needing a site.

Please reserve your lot ASAP if you're attending.

Friday evening - Dinner at Front Porch restaurant located at the intersection of Rt. 33 and Rt. 28 at 7PM followed by beers by the fire.

Last year's WV dual sport weekend was a blast.  This year let's try it during the Summer and attempt to avoid the snow.  Lol

Let's shoot for Two nights camping, starting on Friday July 24.  I'm thinking a nice central campground is the one at Canaan Valley Resort...

http://www.canaanresort.com/lodging/campground

Lots are $25.00 per night and there are two tents allowed per site w/ no more than 6 people per site.

There are some other campgrounds in the area, but the only other one I have experience with is Middle Mountain...

http://www.bootsnall.com/camping/p-34769-middle-mountain-cabins-campground.html

Middle mountain is a bit more crude, but is nicely located!

There are a TON of great roads to ride in this area.

1)  Who's interested?

2)  Any other camping suggestions?

Laurel Fork / Middle Mountain is out for me.  Call me a wuss, but I like to end the day with a hot shower.

Seneca Shadows seems like a nice place.

So does Stuart Campground.

The weekend of July 24th isn't good for me. I work every other weekend. The next week July 31st thru Aug 2nd would be great. That's my long weekend off.

Just saying!  Rolleyes

Just a thought Doug but if we plan on doing a full hook up style campout hot showers and all then. For the money why not bring the wives if there is not a lot of people to sign up. Or if I could get permission to use the camp we take care of down here. There is plenty of riding down my way, but thats up to you.

This is all good info.  There's nothing concrete about the last weekend in July.  I didn't know when Vintage days and Mountainfest were.  Vintage days is cool and I could give a rats arse about Mountainfest.  If anything, Mountainfest gives me an excellent reason to head for the dirt roads in the hills.   Lol

How's the weekend of July 31 - August 2, 2009?

All bikes would be a welcome I rode last year on my 08 KLR 650 with stock tires. One guy brought a older Yamaha 2 stroke and rode with us. We ride all sorts no single track or anything we do ride at a fast pace nothing bad. This year I will be on a 09 KLX 250.

Tom, I don't believe anyone will be able to keep up w/ you on a 250.  Heck, I couldn't keep up w/ you while you were on the porkier 650.

As of now, I will not be able to make this.  I've been going to physical therapy for bone spurs in my T6 and everytime I ride, the area flairs up.  Uber painful and no fun.

I'm more depressed than I am in pain right now because I WANT to ride!!!!

I'm in!!!
