Greg, I would ride a tagged bike with lights.  We'll be in National Forest areas where Troopers and Rangers keep an extra lookout for non-street legal bikes and quads.

Hey guys, what is the gas situation with this ride?  My bike gets about 125 miles before hitting reserve, and then I have about 1/2 a gallon.  Assuming 60 MPG in the street, that is about 30 miles to empty.

I have two 22 ounce MSR bottles that I sometimes carry and was considering brining, but even with them, this only gives me about 3/4 of a gallon of total reserve or about 40 miles give or take.

So, the quesitons I have would be, is there gas to fill up before we hit the dirt roads and is there gas along the way?  If there isn't gas along the way I may strap a 1 gallon Koplin tank or Jerry can just in case.

Any advice would really be appreciated.

Don't worry Marc, my DR still has the stock tank on it and I start getting nervous at 100 miles.  We'll plan on fill ups w/o exceeding 100 to 110 miles tops.

Good with the mods I have done to the 250 I only get about 50mpg now down from 70mpg Lol. I have ran out twice it depends on how hard I run it. I will be more than happy to stay behind the pack. Doug knows why

If you are talking KLX250 I have done most of the mods out there, including bumping it to 300cc (well 292).  But I put the KLX300 exhaust back on and ditched my Big Gun, just too damn loud, so that let me jet back down a bit and bring my MPG up a touch.

Good to know on the gas stops, I wont worry then.

FCR carb is high on my list.  The 351 kit is interesting, just really don't feel like ripping the top end apart again.

finally the gasgas was delivered - not to wv though - it's in mi.  i get it next week at midohio vintage days...  (it's a little one though - 2001 ec200)  should be snappy and nimble...

nothing wrong with the morini...but it's much better suited for dirt roads than dirt trails...

Much of what we'll be on the ride will be dirt roads.  There will be little to no trail riding, unless you have a fancy trail ride to and from the campground.

I reserved a camp site.  Any idea how many are coming and does anyone need a place to stay?

Am I correct in that most people will be coming Friday evening to the camp ground and the main ride will be Saturday?  Anyone staying over Saturday night or are most people leaving out?
