The Sun-Times reports: Lake County State's Atty. Michael Waller said Monday his office dropped a traffic violation against a woman who allegedly was painting her fingernails while driving and killed a motorcyclist in near Wauconda last month. Waller said prosecutors are considering more serious criminal charges and elected not to pursue the traffic violations to avoid a potential double-jeopardy situation.

just as long as they prosecute her for more serious offense(s), that's OK I guess.

But I wish they would get their shit together and file those charges!!

it may be that they are doing just exactly that -- getting their stuff all in one bag . . . .far better to move slowly and win, than rush and have the whole thing dropped, I'm thinkin

Two things grabbed my attention.

. Had she pleaded guilty to the traffic violation, prosecutors might not have been able to pursue more serious charges against Hunt

Good lord, what if she had pled guilty?  I certainly would have in her shoes.

Waller said he believed he would have new charges against Hunt in two or three weeks.

I'll be watching what he decides to do.

A friend in MN is home in bed for the past week. He was hit/rearended while stopped in his car at an intersection by a person texting. His back is all messed up, severe headaches. goes on and on and on.
