OK, I tried searching, but could not find a thing out.

I am considering a sheepskin seat pad / gel pad for the FJR.  Who has tried one / has one?  Recommendations?

I have a deluxe (medium size) sheepskin pad from Alaska Leather, which I use spring through fall. (They smell awful when they get wet!!!).
As well as the extra comfort, it helps keep me cooler by keeping my butt off the vinyl seat and allowing a little airflow underneath. I switched from the stock seat to a Russell Day-Long, and still find the sheepskin keeps me comfortable for longer rides.

I got a gel insert done on my FJR by Bitchn' Stitchn' here in Denver. Kinda hard to explain,,, They put a gel pad from a huge Harley solo seat on it but installed it backwards so the larger end of the pad folds over the sides of the seat in the front. It takes the corners off the FJR seat...$140 total. Great guy who gaurantees his work and free adjustments if necessary,,,none were needed on my bike.

You need more than a pad; the foam is too soft. You need the seat rebuilt.

As for pads, I recommend the Freedom Air:

Better than the Air Hawk, IMO, because the sides are separated for better support of the pelvis side to side.

+1 - worth every penny.  Helps keep the dreaded monkey-butt under control.
