I loved Bloom County. Cutting but gentle social and political satire. I have many of his older collections, and still enjoy reading them (of course, it also brings me back to my earlier years, which is never a bad thing).

Alas, in his later works it really seemed to me he had lost his muse. Too many recycled jokes and gags that weren't that funny in the first place. Just didn't seem to have much to say any more.

That said (back on topic), he has excellent taste in bikes and clearly can afford top-end stuff.

Interesting article; I loved "Bloom County" and about the only comic that today seems to have that same gentle tone is "Mutts."

A GS, how herd-like; I'd hoped he would've ridden a Stelvio.   Razz

A notebook PC mounted on the handlebars and a pocket-full of highlighters - yeah, looks like a GS rider to me.   Bigsmile

Headscratch  Herd-like?   Riding a Harley or generic cruiser is herd-like, riding a GS is quite obviously not!

It only stands to reason that Berkeley would pick the GS with the Bill the Cat headlight. Hell. I named mine Bill.

Great.  Berkely Breathed, Jesse James, Harrison Ford, Neil Pert:  BMW, it's a Poser bike.

Feck.  Might as well sell the GS...just another Harley now!

And lo, he compromised with Atgmott, and verily she conceived,
and did bear a son, Notgatt. And Notgatt roamed naked,
and did bequeath his skin to the roads. And he was a wild ass and an outcast,
and was hated through all the land. And his forehead was branded, and he did become a sign and a warning to all the people."
