The long held belief has been that the cause of the pile up that killed Jarno Saarinen & Renzo Pasolini at the 1973 Italian Grand Prix was the oil deposited on the track by Walter Villa's Benelli in the previous race.

This writer proposes a different theory on the tragedy:

Paso's Harley Davidson seized

ok ok ok...it was really an Aermacchi but bashing Harley's is politically correct.
