By process of elimination:

I've met Rouge, Larry, and USA Medic. They are actual people that exist in the real world unlike the VFX. So it will have to be one of the others.  Bigsmile

Next spring I will do very scientific, economic, and aesthetic comparison between the K1300S and the VFX (or whatever they call it).

I will let you know my results...

Mercy Honda... you're going to give V4s a bad name messy with the most
perfect power band on the planet... first the silly VTEC... now this
bump... just wait till I see those Honda engineers again...

There must be a way to fool that ECU that 3rd gear is selected while
you are actually in 1st and 2nd???

Quote 2010 Aug Cycle World on the 1200cc Veefalo...

The VFR's rideby- wire system over-manages the l237cc V-Four
engine's power output in the lower two gears. Comparing output in
second gear versus that produced in fourth shows a 25-hp/lO-ft.-lb.
deficit between 4000 and 6000 rpm in second! This was not only obvious
but very annoying while trying to chase the Ducati up one of our
favorite SoCal roads. Let the revs drop too much in second gear then
snap open the throttle and the engine will only gradually deliver what
the right wrist is requesting. Maybe Honda knows something we don't,
as later in the day during a photo shoot in a faster sweeper where the
engine could sing in full glory from 6000 revs up, the VFR was laying
down long, arcing trails of black rubber a la Dani Pedrosa on his
RC212V MotoGP racer.

The new VFR, is it a giant sportbike trying to be a sort of sport tourer? Or is it a large sport tourer trying to be a sport bike? IMHO its a FAIL. And at a heck of a price.  Crazy

Here is the take by the NYT on the VFR.  With that kind of endorsement, Honda has to do some revamping.

Have they sold any of these?

I know that finding out that the MSRP before any accessories here was $19,999.00  made me look away.

It kind of reminds of the demise of the muscle car.  After 1966-1967 they became bloated, over priced and over-rated.  All I ever needed was one of these at $2500.

It's still on my radar... sort of... For $5G less, I could get a fully equipped leftover FJR though, so it really doesn't make much sense... In NBA terms it's a "tweener" and that's not normally a good thing. It's not small enough to be a sport bike, not fast enough to be a hyper bike, and not comfortable enough or long enough fuel range for a proper ST mount. Then again, it's plenty fast enough, much more comfortable than any pure sport bike, much more "fun" than any big ST mount, and it's got that maintenance free shaft drive now...

I liked that BIKE magazine article where they compared the VFR1200 to cutting edge sport bikes of the past, to see which one it most resembled.

I think they said the performance numbers matched a 10 year old cutting edge superbike, which isn't such a bad thing.

We're pretty spoiled with modern bikes and sticky rubber these days  Bigsmile

I posted on another topic, but the only one of these I have seen in Western Canada was bought at our local dealer & traded in only 2000 km later. The salesman would not give me a reason why.

If it sits around long, I may try to demo it.

I did sit on it, and while it fits me nice, It does not do much to inspire me.

Honda Extreme had one sold last spring,  was this the one?
