Say you have 4 days off in a row....Where is a good SPORT-Touring trip outta Calgary???  5 days??  New to sport-touring and will hopefully be getting a new bike this week or next, so I thought a lil 'pre-planning' was in order.

Glenn.

Glenn;

I have some old photo's of the area everyone speaks of. (The scenery has not changed though). In 4 days you could do Banff/Jasper hwy & the Kootenay's

Sorry I haven't been back to this post much.  Cause I bought a FJR and have been riding and asking questions on here.  I am planning for the 14-15 or the 15-16.  Stronly considering the Going to the Sun.  Not positive yet though.

Thanks for all the great advice, the routes will go in my GPS!   Bigok

here's a nice 4 day trip from Calgary that includes GTS and Lolo Pass etc.
GTS will be busy and it will be slow. It's best to ride it from west to east.
While Calgarians like to invade the Kootenays on weekends, they seem to forget that Northern Idaho and northwestern Montana have some awesome roads....and very little traffic and LEO presence.

save the Kootenays or icefields parkway for the fall when the RVs and boats and silly traffic are less of an issue.
