I just scored a used but un-crashed Forcefield T-Pro back protector insert (no straps) on eBay. I also have a couple of current Knox protectors sitting around. I'd like to use one of them in my Roadcrafter or Darien, but I can't sew and lack creativity.  Has anyone here done that successfully?  Does anyone know someone with the skills to make a pocket for the protector that I could velcro-in? Thanks in advance!  

(I know I could get a strap-on (watch it!) back protector, but I'm a commuter and don't want to go that route unless absolutely necessary.)

Here is BMW-K's excellent thread on fitting a third part back protector into a Roadcrafter. Same info may work for a Darien.

Take the protector and jacket to a good dry-cleaner.  If they don't have a partnership with a tailor, they'll know where one is.
You'll need to know exactly where it needs to be; location and orientation.
Don't forget to ask for the velcro on one end so it can be removed.

I had a Teknic back protector that I put in my Darien. I even managed to use the pre-existing velcro in the jacket.

Yeah, I wish others would do that, too, but after researching the choices I decided I wanted a Forcefield for my RC and Darien, and I already had Knox protectors in other jackets I own that have built-in pockets for back armor (Belstaff and Rev'It!).
