I followed a friend in his car for about 2 blocks before we pulled into a grass field going to the same place.  He pulled in and stopped.  I pulled in behind him and stopped.  He then backed up straight into me.

I thought he was joking (he was actually looking back!), so I didn't even hit the horn.  But he hadn't seen me.  I hit the front brake when it was obvious he wasn't stopping to hold the bike.  He stopped when the crossbar of his trailer hitch bumped my front wheel.  The front fender completely folded, but popped out when he pulled forward.  You can still see the stress marks in the plastic, but it's otherwise okay.

I rode the bike about 5 miles home.  It tracks straight.  The front rim is true.  The brakes work fine.  Besides the fender, the plastic looks fine.  Anything else I should check?

The fender is $20 or $25.

(and no, Champ is not any part of his name)

I would give a good once over but it does not sound like any real damage was done. If the ride home was fine you are probably ok.

Think of the punishment your type of bike gets flying though the air and landing. I would say if that stress does not bend things than, well you know where I am going with this.
