I have a feeling it's more like, "What technology won't the new VFR come with?" Lol

A number of those will be standard or optional for the ST1300 replacement but not the regular VFR.

I really think a new-Gen VFR would be a great ST platform for Honda's new C-ABS unit that is going in the CBR600RR and CBR1000RR.

More than that I don't really want Honda supplying.
I'll add my own heated grips, a slip on exhaust and probably SW-Motech racks with Givi V35's

Still its looks better than I thought we had a right to expect with the other Honda's of late.

True dat.  It's not like I'm in the market right now; my 5th-Gen is running just fine, and will be getting some go-fast mods over the winter.  If Honda puts something in the showrooms that I just gotta have, well then I'll go get it.  In the meantime, I'm not that concerned with what becomes of the new VFR.  If they put that double-clutch auto trans in it, along with the C-ABS, and charge an outrageous price for it, the market will let them know if they screwed the pooch or not.

Personally, I think a new VFR is the perfect platform to showcase the C-ABS (moreso than on the CBRs), but I think the double-clutch auto trans belongs as an option on something like the Gold Wing (or the ST1300 if it was to be redesigned) - the heavier, two-up type tourers.  An auto trans has no place on a sporty bike (read: anything you would reasonably consider doing a track day with), just as it has no place on an exotic sports car.  I mean, who brags about their AT Porsche?  Does Ferrari even make a model with a slush-box?  Then again, there are exotics with paddle-shifters.

Release the new VFR with the C-ABS and no auto trans (or make it another model, like Yamaha did with the FJR1300 and 1300A) so one can get it with the standard manual trans only (for a lower price), and I might give it a looking-over.  Otherwise, my '99 will be with me for another year.  But, I'm hardly sitting up nights worrying about Honda not making the new VFR the way I want it.
