You'll need a
screen.
You'll need a more comfortable
seat.
You'll need a
luggage rack.
And finally, you'll need a
center stand.
Is there anything the aftermarket can't do?

Hmmmmmmm........ The new model Speed Triple is quickly outpacing the Tiger as my next bike. I was able to ST my '04 quite effectively. Nice to see that the aftermarket is making it possible to do the same to the next gen bike.

Saddlebags, we need saddlebags. And not those giant godawfull Givis hanging three feet off each side.
I'm gettin me a Sprint ST but my heart wants a Speed Triple. More goodies. We want to see more goodies.

No saddlebags, that I know of, but here is what the website says about the top rack...
Quote
SW-MOTECH's highly functional and elegant toprack features a strong, integrated-looking, lightweight aluminum design. Mounts alone or with SW-MOTECH Quick-Lock sideracks (available separately). The smart, multi-functional design enables the use of a Quick-Lock adapter plate (sold separately) to carry GIVI Monokey, Kappa, Hepco & Becker, and Krauser topcases. A GIVI Monolock topcase may be mounted on the Alu-Rack using the permanent-mount adapter plate included with the Monolock case.
Installs quickly using basic hand tools. No cutting, drilling, or welding of existing motorcycle components required. The Alu-Rack is available in silver or black powder coated finishes and includes basic diagram-type instructions which may have small amounts of English and German text.

I currently use a Famsa tailpack on my S3 for travelling and loved the idea of putting a Givi box on it instead.
Does anyone have any experience with that SW-Mototech adapter plate with a box?
I'd love to get some real world feedback on it!

Hey I've been searching for that screen through a US dealer and can't find it anywhere. GIVI lists it on their USA website as part number:
246N902 +A220A
Anybody know of an online retailer? I can't even find a price!

That is one of the coolest looking seed triples. All black with just a touch of color and the seat cowl is sweet.

Yeah, I like the seat cowl a lot. The scoop I could do without though. If I get another Speed Triple I'm definitely going to get either the Arrow or Zard low exhaust. That just looks awesome.

I do agree. And I would like another triple as well as mine bite the dust. But it looks cramped for comfort. And my Buell's filled that category nicely. Too nicely. Need to take a test ride this weekend.

I'm with ya. That Zard is great looking, and those red accents are pretty cool too, but no belly pan on the S3 for me. That setup may make some small-medium saddlebags the hot ticket.
Coffee - I'm 6 foot with a 32" inseam and it feels pretty spacious compared to other sport bikes I've ridden. My knees rarely if ever cramp up, but I was constantly fighting that on my Superhawk. It's not FJR roomy, but it works for me.

I'm usually late to the party, but, that "George Foreman grill" windshield is now available from
Twisted Throttle and I just ordered one. I hope it gets here quicker than the tail rack, which took
3 months. I already had the centerstand and luggage so I see more than day rides in the S3's future.

I have the SW-Motech tail rack with Givi Monokey adapter plate on my SprintST. (Yeah, it's not a Speed Triple, but still ...) The rack bolts to the grab rail only, the plate is very secure, and it holds my monstrous E45 case with no complaints and no drama. Kinda ugly with the case there, but quite functional.

Yes I have a R3 now and it requires all my time and money
Bid dog kicked the little guy out of the garage
The S3 is the best sport bike I ever had but I really don't need two bikes and the muscle cruiser is a better choice for Florida riding. The S3 is just awesome at the Dragon and other twisty roads but I only get a handfull of days a year up there. That and I think I am becoming a bit of a bike whore
I have had a ST and then sport bike and now cruiser in the last 4 years so I am sampling the range a bit

Man, I miss that bike so much.
Think I've told you this before (at the old STN forum) but it was a picture you posted of your Speed Triple loaded with luggage that planted the seed in my mind that the bike had some potential beyond day rides. But I was riding a Sprint RS at the time, so I just filed the thought in the back of my mind. Then, a few months later I crashed the RS and came across a great deal on this '04 Triple... and the rest, as they say, is history.

I got the Givi windshield mounted last week just in time to make a coffee run. It puts the air just at the bottom of my chin so helmet buffeting was nil. This is just what the S3 needed. I think it also helped the mpg. I rode fairly sanely all day ( except for following the M.A.C.K. hooligans for 20 mi. ) and finished the day with 45mpg. Best it's ever done.

The top case mount is the SW-Motech unit from Twisted Throttle. The case is a cheapie from JCW.
It's big enough for my helmet, and swaps to my Kaw in 5 seconds, real handy.
What view of the windshield do you want? I'll get a few pics for you.

Those are Dunlop D616 - same as what Buell puts on the Ulysses. They work fine on pavement or dirt roads and are great in the rain, but they cupped a lot and the rear barely made it to 4,000 miles. Part of the short life might have been due to the load I was carrying on that trip.
I might buy a set again. Gives the bike a sort of Mad Max look.
