I gotta pick Derek Dickson, just because I work with the guy. We've got a workstation hooked up to a 32" monitor at my work showing the progress of his Spot tracker.

Let's not forget that Chili is riding with Slonishku.  Chili
Threadjacked

FALSE! I was the reason I DNF'ed. If I took 2 minutes ...

If, if, if, if, . . . . . . . .

As always, TonyT has shown himself to be a class act.  If I have to explain why this is obvious you simply woundn't/couldn't understand anyway.  Thanks for honesty and candor Tony.

If only we all had the same sense of self and personal responsibility, the newest rules to preclude 'cheating' likely might not be in place for this IBR.  (And we could watch the SPOT's...)

As a 'local' headed back to Greenville from Columbia monday I was privledged to watch as rider after rider passed.  Headed east on 26.  Unfortunatedly (if you can believe the daily's), those same riders are probably not in position to win.  Damn.  Double Damn!!

Having stopped to observe, wave and simply spot the entrants I was once again reminded just what a feat these people were undertaking.  The same sense of awe had been experienced when I had opportunity to do the same thing (spot, smile, wave and encourage from afar) in 05 a few miles west of SLC.

Good luck and continued best wishes to all entrants.

Go Slonishku (Team Chili)...  Hope the Rotary is still spinning smoothly and continues to do so until the finish...

Go Slonishku !

Unfortunately he didn't do too good on the first leg, but I guess when your bike breaks down twice a day it will slow you up.  Sad  He is running in 89th place with 7937 points, 9000 was recommended to qualify as a finisher. He needs to make up some of those points on the next 2 legs and keep the bike running smooth.

When the riders pulled in a crowd of about 10-15 peeps would form around them at a respectable distance. Camera's would be clicking away as the official IBR video man would be interviewing them. Once the interview was complete peeps would politely ask some questions, take more pictures of the bike / rider, welcome them to ST Charles, wish them luck and safe riding on the rest of the Rally.

When Slonishku was being interviewed just about all the peeps that where in the lot where listening in. (About 25-30) When he interview was completed everyone broke into a spontaneous  Clap Clap Clap

He is definitely the crowd favorite.
